We got one as a gift, and LO is just now starting purees so we have not tried this yet. Has anyone ever used one, did you/your LO like it? what age is good to start using it? What foods did you put in it?
For reference this is what we have:

I didn't like them because they were too messy! I used them with ice!

I've been curious about these too. I've also looked at the silicone ones and I'm unsure which to try (if either).

I bought those this weekend. I put a banana in it yesterday and this morning, and LO loved holding it and sucking on it! I haven't started purees yet and have only just started experimenting with solids. But he did enjoy it and he could sit in his high chair and just suck on it holding it himself, which gave me time to get a few things done He's a week shy of 6 months, btw.

We used them with ice and frozen mango chunks (TJ's). We started at 5.5 months when we started feeding her solids.

We used them with frozen fruit starting at 5.5-6 months. They're all right. I agree that they're messy but it's a good stepping stone to self-feeding.

I was curious about these too but never got around to trying them out. LO is 9 months so at this point I think its a bit late for these

I don't think they're worth it. They're super messy and I don't think help much in terms of self feeding.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
DD loves hers! We started using it at 6.5 months, only about three weeks after we started solids. We've used it with slices of pear and she ends up eating almost all of it (there is only a tiny chunk of solid pear left when she's done) and we've also used it with apple. I didn't find it terribly messy and DD loves holding onto it and feeding herself!

My DD is using hers at the moment. I love it and I don't think it's too messy. The nets are a bit hard to clean but a good soak in hot water and scrubbed with a clean nail brush or bottle brush and they're fine. I put all sorts of things in hers like ice, grapes, apple, banana, bread, dried fruit etc. I've been using it since she was 4 months and she's just on 6 months now.
