I'm pregnant with #3 and starting to think it is a boy! When #3 arrives, my dd will be 9, my ds will be 4 and then this babe! Does anyone have a similar family makeup? If so, how does it work for your family? I thought I would have girl, boy, girl but starting to feel very strongly of another boy! My boy is great so I'm sure it will be amazing.

I am the older sister with two younger brothers, 3 and 7 years younger than me. I'm really close to my 1st brother but not so close to my youngest bro. My bro's are pretty close - they do a lot of house and car projects together. I never wanted a sister growing up so I was happy with two younger bro's. Im currently pregnant with #2 and I wanted boy-boy-girl so DS has the same kind of brotherly love like both my brothers but it ended up boy-girl and I might be done with after this one BC I'm having quite a hard time w this pregnancy, but we'll see.

I am also an older sister with two younger brothers. My brothers are 2 and 5 years younger than me. I wanted a sister when my mom was pregnant with the youngest (team green), but once he was born, I was perfectly happy to have another brother. I loved the dynamic between the 3 of us, we had fun growing up despite the usual fights, and are still close now. I think it helped in our family that I was the oldest, so my middle brother and I were already so close, so it was very rarely boys against girl.
I have a 2.5 month old daughter, and hope that our next baby is a boy. If we were to decide to have another after that, I would hope for another boy.

Oh thank ya'll so much! I grew up with a sister who was 2 years older than me. I had no brothers and no father around. It was my mom, sister and I. Unfortunately my sister and I didn't really get along (she was the big sis who hated little sis following her around). To this day, we aren't close. My DD is just absolutely amazing with my DS. When i got pregnant with him, I was terrified! The only boy I had ever been around was my DH...thankfully I fell head over heels for him once he was born. I"m no longer scared of having a boy as I know he will warm my heart...I'm more worried about our family dynamic and hoping that the boys and my daughter will still balance out somehow. Thanks so much! Would love some more replies too!

We are going to be boy-girl-boy. I personally love it because our daughter is the princess/daddy's girl/etc.

I am also an oldest girl with two younger brothers, 3yrs and 8yrs younger. My brothers are very close and I would say I'm reasonably close with them now. However, I did not enjoy those dynamics growing up. I think that's more because of my parents than anything else. The boys got priority in a lot of things because there were two of them and they did have similar interests. So like if we were on vacation and there was a choice between going on a train ride (boys) or petting dolphins (me), they won. Also on vacations they would get to share the 2nd queen in hotels and I got the floor. They sound so minor now, but as a kid I definitely felt like the least important part of my family. So I guess I would just recommend being mindful of making sure your daughter gets equal treatment.

I was just thinking about if I knew anyone with this setup and I don't!! Most ppl I know with three have either all of one gender or 2 girls then a boy.

My SIL has girl-boy-boy-boy!!! She loves it! The girl is the ultimate helper, and all the boys are best friends and can be rowdy together!

@lov2teach: mine are closer in age but I have a girl (almost 6), boy (almost 4), and boy (almost two) and we are actually expecting another boy in five weeks! So my daughter is our only princess. I actually think my daughter and two year old son have a better relationship than the boys. That could change, because she likes being a little mommy and the two year old might get over being a "baby" soon (though we'll have a real baby soon, so who knows). I ideally wanted two girls, but I think this family dynamic will be great.
