My poor dog. We slept so late this whole weekend b/c fireworks were non-stop between like 9pm-12am! I wanted to call the cops when I heard fireworks after midnight at one point... She shakes, drools & wants to climb on top of you.
What does your pet do if they're afraid of fireworks?

My larger dog was fine on the 4th. She did hid behind the couch on the 3rd. My smaller dog was shaking during the prime time for fireworks. We gave him a benedryl to get him sleepy.

My old dog used to panic and run around barking for hours and hours during fireworks, but luckily my new dog seems unfazed by them.

She was fine, and even seemed to enjoy, the big show, but did NOT approve of the cheapo firecrackers set off in the backyard. I had to take her inside for that part.

We're dog-sitting for a friend, and the poor guy hid in the bathroom all night for 3 nights in a row, Thurs/Fri/Sat, since fireworks were going off all weekend.

Mine panics and runs around barking at them. He does the same thing with thunder. We kept the A/C on at night (even though it was in the 60's) just to drown out the noise.

My dogs were outside Thursday evening (not even close to dark yet so I didn't think I had anything to worry about) when the neighbors started setting some off, since then the one is scared to do her business and has already had a couple accidents.

We have 2 dogs. My younger dog who is 7 months old did just fine. We had her in her kennel with the windows closed and radio on.
My older dog who is 1.5 years old was so scared though! We just let him roam the house, but we kept lights on and the TV on for him. One we got home though that night, we noticed he must have went into his kennel (which we leave open because he sometimes likes sleeping in there) and there was small wet spots where he must have peed a little.
Then when we brought them outside to potty right when we got home, Bear (our older dog) wouldn't leave our side, and actually just peed on the sidewalk 
I felt so bad because he's a big 90lb chocolate lab, and to see him so scared.... Next year I think we are going to request something from the vet for him.

@clover: Oh no, that's sad! I don't know how you feel about treat training but I'd bribe her out there with something tasty so that she can start to associate outside with positive things again.

It was cool at night here so I'd opened the windows, poor kittens were sitting in the window when the house across the street starting setting them off they bolted & his under the futon. It was very sad. Every time they thought it was safe to come out, someone would set more off. I ended up closing all the windows, but it was still loud. They hated them & ppl set them off in my neighborhood all summer long

We live near Sea World and have fireworks every single night at 9:52, my dog sleeps through them these days ( thankfully).

@PermaStudent: Its definitely sad! I did try to bribe her yesterday but she wouldn't take the bait. All the little noises usually present outside seem to freak her out now (kids playing, cars driving, etc). I'm hoping people will lay off the fireworks now that the holiday is over and she'll relax again.

Our golden is a big baby. He whined and barked all night.
The lab didn't like them, but he was much more mature about the whole scenario, lol.

We had fireworks followed by a thunderstorm. The dogs were not happy. Even the deaf one was acting weird. One dog refused to come out from under the bed, and the other refused to come out from under the covers. Luckily they don't whine. The one under the covers was panting a lot, so I made sure he drank enough and didn't suffocate himself, haha.
