She did a couple other posts too that you can find in the CD series.

@T.H.O.U.: yep, this is what we're going with! I hope they work out

@LovelyPlum: Do you have any yet? Are you doing them as newborns as well? If so, how many did you get? Last question, what inserts are you going with?

@T.H.O.U.: I don't have them yet, but they are on my registry. I am going to try them with the baby right away, but we'll see how that goes. I found this blog post with a whole lot of newborn diaper reviews, and she seems to think that they'll work: http://change-diapers.com/2012/01/newborn-cloth-diapers-my-opinions-after-a-month/
I'm not sure how many to get. I think I'm registered for 20, so that is where I figured we'd start. I also am shooting in the dark about how many inserts to get. I ended up registering for 10 of the 2-ply inserts (http://shopapplecheeks.com/shop/2-pli/) and 10 of the microterry inserts (http://shopapplecheeks.com/shop/product.php?productid=22&cat=4&page=1). I currently don't have any of the 3-ply inserts on my list (http://shopapplecheeks.com/shop/product.php?productid=26&cat=4&page=1), but I'm wondering if I should?
ETA: 10 packs, so 20 of each. I was basing that off of Mrs. Superhero's post: http://www.hellobee.com/2012/11/05/how-to-choose-a-cloth-diapering-system/, but she only has 12 covers.

@LovelyPlum: I don't think you have overshot. The Microfiber are 2 packs, so you have 20 of those, and then 10 of the 2ply. So a total of 30?
I was figuring a diaper change every 2 hours, 12 per day. I would like to wash every other day and have enough for baby to wear something while I do laundry. So I was figuring around 30 changes for the newborn stage. That gets spaced out a lot when they are a bit older.

@T.H.O.U.: the 2-ply are also packs of 2, so 40? That is probably a bit much, but maybe I won't go all the way up to 40 if I don't get them all at the shower. 30 changes is a good number to shoot for, I think. I honestly have no idea how often a newborn gets changed, so I'm glad I wasn't far off
Are you using these with baby #2? What did you do for your DD?

*Why did you choose them?
- great reviews
- Canadian!
*What do you like about them?
- cute colours
- easy to use
- don't have to remove the inserts, can throw them in the wash
*Any dislikes?
- depending on the insert, they make your LO's bum fat fat fat...and it's so hard to squeeze her into pants!
- they're not good for chunky thighs. LO's thighs started getting red marks around 20 months.
- i find that they leak through the leg holes, but it may be a function of the inserts i use
*Which inserts do you use?
- homemade fleece inserts
I personally wish i bought more of the BG Freetimes
