We are "those" parents who don't let our LO have any screen time. However, we will be taking a five hour flight to and from the west coast when she's 16 months old, and I will do practically anything to keep her from disturbing the other passengers.
What iPad apps enthrall your toddlers the most? Preferably ones that don't require wifi, as I'm not certain we will have it on the flight.

Jellytoons Bobos birthday, endless alphabet, fisher price (all of them they are annoying but he still loves them), touch coloring farm.

@blackbird told me about Peekaboo Barn which my kid loves.
Also if you're going to have her wear headphones, test them out at home a few times. My son was very wtf the first few times we put them on him.

Heh, at 15 months, we took E to Mexico and Peekaboo Barn was the only thing that entertained her. But it only lasted about 5-10 min. We had more success with coloring books, vinyl sticker books, mini blocks, and lollipops. The lollipops were the biggest time waster on the flight!

My LO is 16 months and the only ones she is sort of into are the Fisher Price ones and sometimes Sago Mini Ocean Swimmer. But they still only hold her attention for maybe 5 minutes.

At 16 months she really had no patience for the iPad. The Fisher Price apps were the best bet though (and FREE!)
If your LO likes eating I would suggest a bunch of new snacks - that was L's absolute favorite! Well, besides the neighbor's ear buds... she played with those for like 30 minutes! Thankfully she was a super nice girl who didn't mind...

At `16 months, Mickey Mouse club videos on the iPad were the biggest hit.

The Monster at the end of the Book (Elmo and Grover, has interactive games to do on each page)
Elmo's ABCs (has a drawing part, videos, tracing letters, etc.)
Disney movie app is the best for overall attention span - Disney movies come with codes now so you can DL them to your ipad for free and watch them that way.
Piano Ball is another one of LO's favorites, and Bloom (not a kid's app, but fun!).

Apps didn't really work for us (the novelty wore off too fast), but a Muppet movie held his interest.

@Skadi: I was throwing up in the bathroom at the airport before i took my son on a 14 hour flight because I was so nervous. And it was fine. I kept saying, "I know we can do it if..." and the fact was we were going to have to do it either way 
He didn't "get" apps at that time so we relied mostly on inflight entertainment, little toys and walks back and forth the plane. He slept a lot of the time (but it was a night flight). He really liked looking out the window.
