Ugh. on a cheapie this morning. What a bust. It might be another squinter but I can barely see it in person and I can't get it to photograph. Now I don't know if I should take me Prometrium tonight or not.
ETA: this morning's pic. It showed up around 5-10 minutes, so probably an evap.

@mrskansas: I would have to buy an FRER. The store is like 5 min away, but I'd have to not drink and then try to pee again.

@Mrs. Oreo: If you can, try to get a FRER and test in the afternoon. Early on, afternoon tests tend to be darker anyways, at least for me. I'm sorry for the uncertainty.

@Tionn3: @2littlepumpkins: I'm sure the sample size in each age group is small, making it noisy - hence why it goes up and down - and worse may not be very representative of the general population. I still found it interesting because there are so few numbers out there. The 2 months is the average person - the distribution of how long it takes is going to have a really fat tail, even for people where everything is normal, meaning that for the half of the population that takes longer than 2 months (or whatever the real number is), some will take quite a bit longer...
I can't think about it too much, though, I will drive myself crazy as well wondering why it hasn't happened and what could be wrong...

@Coral: Thank you I feel like at this point I don't really know what to expect, in terms of how long it will take. Hopefully it will continue to be quicker for us in the future, so we get more tries at a healthy baby. I do find it reassuring that we know what was the problem with our first loss and it is just a random event that's not related to overall egg quality and not likely to happen again. But I'm not very good at not worrying about things - or at being patient - so of course I find other reasons to worry about whether this will ultimately work out for us...

@periwinklebee: I just bought FRER. I did two more cheapies and they look the same. I hope this isn't a cruel trick. I'm gonna do my FRER this afternoon before we go out.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Mrs. Oreo: I'm so, so hoping that this works out for you. The limbo of this whole process sucks and I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see a beautiful line on a FRER this afternoon.
I swore off spending money on FRERs but realized they really are the best thing for peace of mind to confirm whether a cheapie squinter is there, or to give a second piece of data if cheapies aren't really darkening.

@periwinklebee: Me too! Although, I'm not as enthusiastic as last time. I'm more like, "really? wtf?" I ate like crap too with this new carefree attitude we had for this cycle. I also bought a digital to use sometime later if my FRER is positive. DH wouldn't believe two pink lines if it smacked him in the face.

@Mrs. Oreo: Getting pregnant seems to have no logic, and is bound to happen when you least expect it. I hope that this is it!
I got a positive on a digi last weekend when my hcg must have been between 32 and 37 (quite low) - I think they actually have a pretty sensitive threshold, at least the CB ones.
pear / 1677 posts
@periwinklebee: No kidding! Didn't expect it, already taking Prometrium, eating like crap, no symptoms whatsoever (excpet for the headaches and nausea I attributed to the medication). What the heck, man.
And that's suprising for a digi!
I need to keep myself busy doing something....because I keep staring at the clock.

@periwinklebee: I'm the same way, afternoon tests are darker than FMU
@Mrs. Oreo: I am rooting for you!!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
We don't live anywhere close to our families, and don't have a family of our own, so I feel like family oriented holidays (i.e. Easter) can feel a bit isolating, and the recent struggles with TTC don't help. Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day and we're planning to go to the beach for the first time since last season, though, which I am super happy about. Today I'm just trying to catch up on work (there will always be more to do, ugh) while my husband sleeps.

@periwinklebee: I can't remember, are you in MA? We are north of Boston. Easter is a lot of fun with kids (egg hunts, baskets, etc) and we will be celebrating at our house with just my mom and MIL. My son is bummed that there won't be other kids to play with but hopefully the beautiful weather and a bit of candy will help him get over that

@bushelandapeck: Yes! I can't believe how lucky we've gotten with the weather. I can't wait to spend tomorrow outside - I'm one of those people who is just happier when I can get lots of fresh air, so it is amazing when spring finally arrives.
Hah hah, I'm sure your son will forget about the lack of playmates when he realizes that there is candy and egg hunts involved!

@periwinklebee: it is going to be amazing tomorrow! I hope you have a great day!

Well I ended up in the ER this afternoon when I started having bad back pain and peeing blood. Guess I have a "raging" bladder infection according to the PA. Yay.

@Mrs. Oreo: Ah so frustrating! Hope the FRER looks clearer!
@periwinklebee: Yeah what you're saying makes sense. Of course lots of women will take this as an excuse to freak out after all of two or three months. (Insert eyerolls, lol.)
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@mrskansas: Ugh, yuck, so sorry! I hope they are able to give you something that will clear it up quickly.
nectarine / 2813 posts
@bhbee: @periwinklebee: thanks guys. They gave me a shot in my butt and I have to take 4 pills a day for 10 days
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@mrskansas: boo, hopefully it clears things up soon
@2littlepumpkins: hah hah, unnecessarily freaking out about TTC is undoubtedly me You guys really should tell me when I'm losing it!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@mrskansas: Oh man I'm so sorry! I'm getting over a bad UTI but I wasn't peeing blood, I can't imagine how you must be feeling! Did they put you on Macrobid? I hope they obtained a culture so they can ensure they kick it with the right meds!
@periwinklebee: We're going to the beach together for the first time in... like 10 years. Not exaggerating. And we live in Florida. Oops.
nectarine / 2813 posts
@Mrs.Panda: they did do a culture. I don't remember what exactly the number refers to but my number was 50+ and they said it is usually 0-5, so it is not good
They prescribed Cephalexin 500mg 4x a day for 10 days.

@mrskansas: Damn girl. That's not a game. I hope you feel better soon. Take the antibiotic with food
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@mrskansas: ugh those suck! Hope you feel better soon. I pee blood with UTIs too and the first time I FREAKED OUT. I think keflex treats kidney infections too so that's good. I feel for you!!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@periwinklebee: hah I think anyone who has ever had a chemical or a loss or extenuating circumstances of any kind gets a pass. But healthy people in their 20s who have just stopped bc a month or two ago and are having the worlds biggest pity party and deeming themselves "having trouble ttc" well not gonna lie, I totally roll my eyes at that. I think you're in the clear. And frankly I don't think we have those on HB. But in real life that is another story!!
nectarine / 2813 posts
@Mrs.Panda: @2littlepumpkins: thanks girls, I am feeling much better! They gave me an antibiotic shot in my hip too so I think that jump started things and I'm not seeing anymore blood.
I'm just hoping this doesn't interfere with this cycle!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@mrskansas: well having some improvement already is a good sign! Must have been bad, I've never had a shot for a UTI. Did it all come on in a day?
nectarine / 2358 posts
@mrskansas: if it makes you feel any better, I have a bad UTI right now (likely from all the BDing) and I seem to have a BFP. I'm still on antibiotics for it. It should be fine!
nectarine / 2813 posts
@2littlepumpkins: yeah it was pretty fast! I woke up feeling off and just really worn out and then the pain and bleeding set in around 2 pm.
Annoying but oh well, it happens!
nectarine / 2813 posts
@Mrs.Panda: did I miss your update?! Yay!!
ETA: I just realized I have already seen it congrats again!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@mrskansas: LOL it's all good, it's hard to keep up. And I haven't missed AF yet so I'm being cautious.
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@mrskansas: True! I have issues with the meds for them so I dread them. But anyway, better now than during tww I think.
@Mrs. Oreo: Hope you're doing well!
Anyone have big easter plans? We did an egg hunt today but just a few family members coming over tomorrow and we'll do eggs again in the AM. We're doing take out.. nobody wants to cook, haha.

I'm pretty new to this site - just found it later in our efforts to TTC but love it already. And I'm so excited to share that it looks like I'll be joining the ladies with a Christmas time due date. Took it this morning because I've been feeling a lot of crazy symptoms in the last week. And actually gave up hope yesterday thinking AF was coming. It's a bit faint so I'll probably retest in 2 days before showing DH.
