@shantuck my husband had a bad bug the day before Xmas eve and he's still recovering, luckily I haven't caught it. I came into work today and half of our staff had the same bug over Christmas so I'm sill hoping I won't catch it!! I really don't want it while I'm 7 months pregnant.

@Pinkberrry: Yikes! I hope you avoid it too. It's the worst just sitting in waiting!

@Shantuck: you hosted with a 7 week old??? Whoa.
I'm glad our bug seems to have been short lived. I woke up on Christmas morning super nauseous but it passed by mid day. And it got me out of any prep work- I was paranoid about possibly having germs so had MIL and sil prep the food mostly and I just cleaned up after when I couldn't get anyone else sick.

@Foodnerd81: In retrospect, it was a poor choice. My husband's entire family lives out of town and hadn't met the baby so we hoped to have them come at once and be done with it. We had prepared meals delivered but this bout of sickness is what has done me in!

@Shantuck: we had a one week old last year and "hosted" and it was so overwhelming. I was so hoping this year would be so much better- and it was, but the stomach bug just made everything crazy. Good call on high tailing itnoutnof there with the baby.

LOs fever is still going. I just measured 105.2 but it kept dropping steadily after that so I hope she had just been sleeping on her ear or something. I think it's closer to 103.9. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm bummed we didn't get to do so much of what LO wanted to do like "ice dancing". At least Christmas morning was really nice. We're still only about halfway through our cancelled brunch foods.

I spoke too soon on the vomiting being behind us. LO vomited all over us both (again) at 3am. Fun stuff. We're going to get her checked at a walk in clinic tomorrow so she has time before we fly to get better if her ears are infected or anything else treatable. She's still really stuffed up, but at least has been in a remarkably good mood most of the time, despite her symptoms & lack of sleep. Fortunately DH took a shift with her at 7am & let me sleep until 10am after being up with her every couple hrs & then on the couch letting her sleep on my chest after we got ourselves cleaned up after the vomiting. I'm so done with this.

We all haven't been feeling well. Fortunately for us, our plans didn't take us too far from home.

Stomach bug is gone but now the 3 year old has a bad cough and generally seems to feel lousy, and the 1 year old is super cranky, teething, and alternating between constipation, diarrhea, and really tough gas. Therefore no one gets to sleep.

I'm late to the party, but I have two toddlers with croup! 2 ER visits in 6 days and no sleep for anyone. I'm just glad our biggest event this holiday season was Christmas day at my parents house 40 min away.
