I like mine a lot, but I got it as a factory-sanitized refurb (WAAAYYY cheaper). I like that it doesn't really clog and the vacuum itself is really easy to clean. It snaps apart and back together in very commonsense ways. We have cats, and it handles the hair really, really well.

I loooove my cordless dyson - I have the cheapest version which is still great and got it on Black Friday sale. You can look at past pricing online with something like traktor (forget exact name but google it) and see when it is likely to go on sale again and by how much. But that thing is a lifesaver for kids. The battery only lasts about 6m on max power though so you're not doing the whole house at once. I do kitchen and living room and that's about it before charging.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the cordless one too. We got the gigantic animal one for our wedding; and power wise it is superior. BUT I was so tired of lugging that thing around and I have multiple floors. So the light weight cordless is a game changer! Yes; it needs to be recharged; it's not AS powerful... But I can super easily vacuum multiple times a day! I will buy this thing over and over and over again!

@Coral: On of the upright corded ball ones... I got it in 2013 so prob not the newest models. Power is awesome... It's just so dang heavy. I'm also 5'1 so for me to lug it up and down stairs and push it around to vacuum... It's not realistic to do it everyday. We actually loaned it to our friends to clean up their new house and I don't miss it, haha!

I have an old canister model with the pet hair attachments, probably 9 years old and still going strong. It was a game changer in keeping the dog hair under control and I wouldn't want to be without it, but I'd love a lighter weight cordless too for quick cleanups.

We have one (also refurbished and much cheaper than normal) and we love it. It's a stick vacuum (I think v6?) and it probably doesn't do as good a job as bigger vacuums, but it's worth it for ease of use. We use it almost every day. And honestly, it does a better job on our rugs than the vacuum that our cleaners bring and use. We even bought one for MIL for her birthday last year because she liked ours so much.

I have the cordless Dyson V8 and I love it! If I don't have max power on my charge is good for about 40 minutes worth of vacuuming. On max it's about 20. We have hardwood floors with rugs and it is so easy to change out the different brushes, my 5 year old can do it! Works great in our kitchen too. It's a little top heavy, took a few times of using it for my arms to get used to it. It is so easy to clean and the filters are washable.

A big fat yes. It's worth every penny. We have the cordless one and the upright one we got several years ago refurbished. . We keep the upright one upstairs. But my biggest vacuum need is in the kitchen and downstairs and that's where we keep cordless. I seriously vacuum after every meal (15 month old) and it's so easy. We have the cordless one charging in the pantry and it's so easy for a quick cleanup that I love love it

I have the Dyson V8 and I use it several times a day, it has the "fluffy" head on it which is awesome for hardwood floors and tiles. One quick zoom around the house and no more crumbs to be seen. I particularly love it in the bathroom, after brushing the hair of myself and 2 girls the floor is covered in long black hair. zoom zoom, all the hair is gone.

my previous hand held had a "known problem" with the battery and also with a filter popping out, and they replaced both free of charge even though I was far gone out of warranty.

@snowjewelz: does your upright have the hose attachment at the back that you can pull out to use? mine does and I always find the power is so ridiculously strong that it sucks the hose right back in and I can't use it!

Oh, good to know! I was thinking I should check Costco, because I've seen a couple models there over the months we've talked about getting one.
I also noticed the Dysons at Lowe's were on sale--just not what we were looking for.

I like it. I haven't had difficulties with it so far and it really is user friendly. I am very bad with technology.

So our Ball broke (that we had since 2008) and we just got a Dyson V8. IT IS AMAZING! I cannot even BELIEVE how much it picks up. Just saying!!
