LO sleeps in just a sleep sack with nothing else in her crib. She is almost 4 months old but really loves to snuggle her blankies during the day. Do you think "lovey's"/Angel dear blankets are safe to sleep with at this point, or should she be older?

most resources are reluctant to say loveys are ok because of the aap's recommendation that nothing should be in the crib until 1 year. the no cry sleep solution says it's ok from 4 months when baby is strong enough to move their head. i gave olive a lovey at 6 months and only for naps when i could watch her on the video monitor. when she had mastered rolling over both ways, i gave her the lovey at all times (day and night). it really helps them sleep!

We just started at 6.5 months. It hasn't changed her sleep at all.

I don't know but I'm in a different position. My lo doesn't like loveys! She wants nothing to do with them. It's very odd...

C started sleeping with hers at 6 months old when we stopped swaddling. She sleeps in a sleepsack with a lovey and one of our AA blankets now. She loves cuddling them at night.

Wagon Jr. didn't care about his lovey until much later. Now he's totally attached to it. He now has 4-5 friends join him in bed every night, all small stuffed animals, now that he's 3.

My LO likes stroking my face or her lovey whilst she falls asleep but I dont leave it in her crib once she is asleep. She is 8 months old

@Mrsbells: That's what I do now, let her snuggle with her blankie while rocking/nursing her but then she goes in her crib with just her sleep sack on.

I was just about to write this same post! our are 5 months and started having a hard time with the arms to crib transfer recently. i'm finding a stuffed animal helps, but i'm trying to decide if there's a certain type that's safer than others.

i struggle with this too! DS loves the lovey against his face and I recently caught him putting it OVER his face...scary! Now i only let him get settled in with it against his face (it's between his cheek and the mattress) then take it away once he's settled.

@mediagirl: Mine doesn't really like loveys either. No loveys, no pacis, nothing. On one hand I like it because it's a habit we won't have to break. On the other, it would be nice if she used some object to comfort her.
I leave a lovey in her bed anyway. She plays with it when she wakes up or needs to let a bit of energy out before going to sleep.

I think my son could take them or leave them, but I started giving a lovey at nap time around 5 months (he had mastered rolling at 4 months). I let him sleep with one starting around 6.5 months....not sure if he even likes it. I gave him a soft animal for a nap recently and he snuggled with it th ewhole time. It was very cute.

I asked our dr at his 6 month appt and since he was rolling both ways and had great head control she ok'ed the A&A blankets. He sleeps with it day and night and he's 10 mos. but he doesn't think of it as a lovey, sadly, he wouldn't notice if it were gone.

She has a lovey (Elephant head blanket thingy) that has been in her crib since around 6 months. She doesn't love it but she plays with it when she wakes up and hangs out there after her naps.

@Weagle: maybe her lovey is her mobile. She loves to play with it until she gets tired and rolls over to her belly to sleep.
