@locavore_mama: I am not a HK fan either.
Generally, anything that has glitter that comes off I avoid. It gets everywhere and drives me crazy. Other than that, I don't like a lot of the "rude" saying shirts, but will buy the kind at Old Navy, etc that say "Mom's sweetie" or whatever. Those don't bother me. She LOVES Minnie Mouse, but I try to limit characters to sleepwear. Other than that, anything that can't be machine washed is NOT being bought by me.

Glitter that can come off, things that are scratchy, and when she gets a little older I won't be buying her those short little mini skirts. I don't think that has any place on a toddler/little girl.
Oh and anything with a rude or demanding saying. Like she has a bib that says "Wanted it, threw a fit, got it." Someone gave that to her and I refuse to put it on her.

I don't really go clothes shopping for DD since my mom seems to have it covered. But I have been buying her a lot of basics - she's lacking them in her current size (that I thought she wouldn't be in for long, so I skipped it for the next size up).
What I avoid? Anything that's full price!
I'm cheap!
