I'm a sentimental person and have a hard time getting rid of things. I've been much better about purging over the years. My sister just had her baby a month ago and I had given them a ton of our leftover baby items that were waiting to be donated/resold. I can't seem to part with my ergo though. That thing just brings back so many nice memories of when my son was a baby. For a while, carrying him in it was the only way he was able to nap. I carried him everywhere in it - all around the world. Maybe I'll save it for when my kids have babies.

The very first outfit I bought her after she was born, just a little pink and yellow sleeper in preemie size. We were team green and she came early so I didn't have any girly clothes and nothing was small enough for her little peanut body. I've packed up everything that doesn't fit except that.... I just love to look at it.

I kept the clothes my children had cute photos in. I think it will be fun to have the actual clothes with their baby/toddler photos when they grow up.
I also have a pair of shoes from when my mom was a baby. My son has aphoto wearing them. Unfortunately my mom didn't save anything from my childhood. -
I didn't save anything from when ds was little. I have his crib and stroller, but everything else was sold in my parents yard sale cause I needed the money from them. I have fond memories of a few pieces I wish I had saved, though. Luckily, I have plenty of photos of him in those outfits.
I do have his crib, still, so dd will be sleeping in that very soon!

@prettylizy: Oddly enough, I didn't hold on to their first outfits. It must be so tiny compared to how much she's grown now.
@Greenmom: That does sound like a neat idea for the kids as they get older - to see the actual clothing from photos.
@katiew92081: I was able to give away most things, especially clothing. I might have to save some of my daughter's pieces though because they're so darn cute. Aw, good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I will save the dress she wore for coming home. I framed her hospital hat in a shadow box with our bracelets, some other hospital stuff, and some photos. I have 2 rattles that my MIL played with as a baby that we'll keep, and a stuffed animal from when DH was little, plus one from when I was little. I'll probably keep a few outfits from this first year.

@MaisyMay: My husband has some stuffed animals when we was little too. My mom only kept some jewelry I wore when I was a baby.
