My grandmas grandma was a twin but it hasn't repeated. My doctor suspects I hyper ovulate at least sometimes (based in post ovulation cysts)! My cousin has twins through ivf.

There aren't any on either side. Mine would have been the first, but it wasn't meant to be.

My dad/aunt are fraternal twins.
My paternal aunt then had fraternal twins.
That's been it so far! None of my generation has birthed twins yet but there are a few left that are just starting families, so time will tell.

My mom had twin cousins (who were born 10 months after their big sister, yikes!) and on the other side her cousin's daughter has twins. So through both my maternal grandparents but not too closely related,

My sister and I both have twins! However, twins don't really run in our family - infertility does. Our twins are IVF babies!

I have twin brothers. My mom was over 35 when they were conceived and they're identical, so it's probably just a fluke.

My mom and aunt are fraternal twins, and two of their maternal uncles were twins. I think they may have been identical. On DH's side, his first cousin had fraternal twins, and there were at least one other set from his grandparents' generation. I figure with 4 sets of naturally conceived twins in the last 3 generations, we probably have a higher than average chance of having multiples with our next pregnancy. Oh boy!

I can trace some of my family back to the 1700"a and there is not one single instance of twins! Though there were plenty of babies over age 40!

Not on my side. On DH's side, his mom is a fraternal twin. Also his brother had triplets through IVF. But only two eggs were put in, so one split into identical twins.

We have an insane number of fraternal twins on my Dad's side so I should have known that it I was likely to have some. My Dad has two sets if fraternal twins sibs. His younger sister had fraternal b/g twins and the girl went on to have her own set of twins. Now I am expecting twins too. We don't have any identicals though.
