Well trained dogs. I blame owners for rude, unruly dogs - the ones that jump on, lick, sniff strangers even when told not to or what's worse the owners that do not immediately rescue the stranger. I like dogs, but I don't want to be bothered by them...hmm am I still a dog person?

I used to be a dog person. Now I'm not really a fan of either!

I voted dog, but I actually love both. However, DH is allergic to cats, so I have accepted that we're never getting one. Sad.

I'm an animal fan in general.
We have 3 cats (1 outside) and 2 dogs (1 outside). If I could, I'd adopt all the homeless animals in the world lol!

I love dogs, but I find cats really gross! My mom has 2 cats and the hair and hair balls and the way the litter box stinks (it just has a "cat smell"), I can't help but find them really disgusting! Like, they make the house unsanitary? I have a short hair chihuahua so he's pretty clean and I guess I'm used to him:)

I love dogs, though I'm not crazy about yippy little dogs that are poorly trained (I lived with the world's worst yorkie for a year). Big or small, I love them.
We had a cat growing up so I thought I was a cat person, then I developed an allergy to them when I went away to college. So now I still like them and appreciate them, but it's hard to really love them when I get stuffed up and sneezy and itchy from petting one.

@PrincessBaby: I also think the way cats seem to always get up on the table or counter (sometimes when you are looking, sometimes when you walk away) is sort of gross. I know a lot of dogs will take food off the table, but they don't walk around on the counter. That bugs me a little.

@Foodnerd81: Ugh! Yes! I am in medical device sales and when I go to accounts/dr offices, sometimes their patients bake treats for them and I always decline when they offer bc I have this visual of some little old lady baking in a kitchen with cats on the counter "helping" her...Blech!!!!

I'm a cat person all the way. I don't like how dogs require so much care - we can never travel anywhere without dealing with our dog. Plus walking them is so much work and sucks in bad weather and cleaning up their poop is so gross, I think litter boxes are not as bad.

I love both! We have 2 cats and 1 dog. If it were up to me, I'd have birds, hedgehogs, bunnies, etc. Lol

@autumnlove: take that back!
I equally love both. Actually I equally love every animal except mice and snakes. My last amily dog died last year and I keep begging DH to surprise me with a purse dog but he won't. For now my cats keep me plenty busy.

WE are both definitely more dog people. I love how they listen more and you can play with them more. I also love they they tend to be more affectionate. I grew up with cats and while they were affectionate, it was on their terms only. And I like how, if I really need to snuggle a pup, I can just call her over and we snuggle like there is no tomorrow. I also love feeling needed and wanted more than you get with cats.
We do love all sorts of animals though, at one point somebody said it was like we had a miniature Noahs Arc in our apt. 2 turtles, 2 dogs and 2 hedgehogs. I miss my hedgies. One day we plan on getting more but right now the loss of our last one weighs too heavily on Mr. Hedgie. When our kids are older and able to handle them a little better we plan on getting more though. I absolutely want our children to have that experience!
