I try not to slam doors, but it is so hard! I am trying hard to stop... the first step is admitting I have a problem? Problem is, I've been on Step One for a while now.
Are you a door slammer? What about your SO?

We are not at all. Funny you bring this up because both sets of grandparents are and it drives us nuts when they are staying at our house. Please explain door slamming to me!

Living in old houses helps with this. You learn to be very gentle with your hardware, lest it stop functioning!

@mrbee: heh, at least you got to step one! The grandparents insist that they don't even do it!

No! We aren't, but like Andrea, some of the grandparents are, my mom especially. And I never noticed it until my husband pointed it out to me, now it drives me crazy.
Also annoying, stompers. What's up with that?

I'm not! I have to close doors super quite because DH works shift, so when he is on night and sleeping in the day he would not enjoy me slamming doors! He is pretty quiet with his door habits as well! lol

Nope, & most of our doors I actually turn the handle so they make as little noise as possible now that we have DD

I'm not but my husband is. When we had our first son he kept startling him whenever he closed our laundry room door. We keep our dog's wee wee pad in there so I require that the door be closed so I don't have to see it whenever I pass by it. Our dog will sit by the door to let me know when she has to go so we don't have to keep it open. Husband's family are also door slammers. Whenever they visit there's a lot of door slamming and loud voices upstairs after the kids have gone to bed. Oh well. Good thing they don't visit often. Haha! Hard to change old habits.
