It's important to DH and I that we raise LO in our church, and that she's sees the importance of being involved. DH runs powerpoint every other week and is on the church board, I help in the nursery once a month and help with Women's Ministry events.

Yes, we are. Our church is the main reason that we're planning on living here long-term. DH is a deacon and does music, I volunteer in the children's ministry a lot.

Not currently. Until recently DH was the media director for our student ministry (jhi, hs, & college age) & I was our Young Adults prayer/intercessory team director. G serves in his age group on the Students N Leadership team. We had to step down due to service time changes & work/family conflict. Idk what we'll get into next but I'm ready to start serving somewhere again! DH plans on going into ministry full time at some point so we'll always serve in some capacity.

@Weagle: We moved about 30 minutes away from church because of work and yet we're still there every week. I would mind moving closer to work but we've agreed that if we did, we'd have to change churches and we aren't ready for that.

Yep! My husband is our worship leader so he coordinates and leads all our music. I'm on host/welcome team so I take care of new members and visitors.

Yep, we both serve in the kitchen - DH usually after morning services once a month, and me in the evenings (though I'll be taking a break in the Autumn. I'm excited to bring our LO (due Sept) into our Church family and to start going to the Toddler Group!

DH is a deacon, but I don't do much at the moment other than attend Bible study. I suspect I will start helping in the nursery soon--I think it's expected once you have a LO in the nursery. I definitely want LO to be very involved in kids programming.

We are, dh teaches the k-3 Sunday school class every other week, I work in the preschool one or two times a month and both of us help out with anything that needs to be done at the church.

Not currently but we would like to be. Once we get settled in (we just moved), we want to start going regularly. Only thing is, most Catholic churches I've encountered don't have a done of group/fellowship type things. So, aside from going regularly, involvement is kinda minimal. I'm hoping to meet new friends/couples/future mommy friends though!
ETA: I just checked our website. There's a Moms and Tots group (birth to age 3) but it meets Thursdays at 10 a.m. So much for that! =/

I haven't been since M's baptism at 4 months. Services are at breakfast time, naptime and naptime (8am, 9:30 and 11).

We haven't been really going regularly that much either because of DH's work schedule...We are going to really work on going more often.

My involvement isn't as obvious... I do a lot of the design work for our church (designing flyers and banners for events and such). Most people are probably not even aware that I do it. I may join the worship team...

@pui: my husband was on the worship team at church! (Until he took a new job this last December) he plays the drums, and he loooved it. actually I think he's looking for a new job now, and he seriously can't wait until he has Sunday's off again and can play again for church! Do you play an instrument or sing??

We are. My husband and I speak at the marriage prep/pre-Cana program for the diocese, and I'm a wedding coordinator at our parish. I used to teach religious ed to the 5th graders and DH used to run the young adult ministry. I've also recently started going to the Babies and Tots group with LO.
@LindsayInNYC: That's a bummer about the timing. I know ours has a FB group associated with it, so while it's not the same, maybe you could meet other mamas through that?

@LindsayInNYC: we do! It's one of the biggest reasons I want to stay in the city! We've made so many good friends through it, and it's so hard to meet good people once you're grown up. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

@LindsayInNYC: not catholic but I know of two pretty awesome churches in NYC! I lived on LI for a year and I loved my church there SO SO SOOOO much that everytime we visit I tell DH I would move back there just for that church - it's such an amazing family community, such strong fellowship and faith, and whenever you're there you are inspired and just feel alive!
We used to be... but since having a kid it's pretty much impossible, it doesn't help that we live nearly half an hour from church. We have a really hard time just making it to service, but it is a priority for us. I just think it will be easier when naps aren't such a prevalent part of our lives.

We are and we love it. We've both served in different areas for several years... Youth leaders, Youth worship, running Hospitality, Set up team, Nursery, leading bible studies, mentoring... Our church family is super important to us!
