I HATE public speaking. Even if it's in front of a small crowd, i get nervous as heck! I envy people who are comfortable speaking in front of large crowds. I think my career would excel so much faster if I can get over my fear of public speaking.

No way, I love it!
I don't get the opportunity to do it often but in college I used to love giving speeches and presentations.

@mrsdaredevil: OMG, how do you do it?? Did you take classes or you're just naturally comfortable in front of crowds?

Nope! I don't love it, but I don't hate it either.
I've done a loooooot of presentations so speaking in public doesn't bother me.

I hate it! I would dread project presentations in college for weeks and it happened A LOT because I was an education major. Now I can talk all day long to a class of 4 year olds and their parents, but most other situations...ack I hate it so bad!

@banana: I think I am just naturally comfortable speaking in front of people. I am pretty confident and just learned that I love it after I took public speaking 101 freshman year.

I'm fine with it. I've given lots of presentations and taught college kids so I'm used to it. My old advisor was of the opinion of being tougher then anyone else would ever be during a presentation to get us prepared. While sometimes he'd tick me off with his in your faceness, it definitely has made me pretty calm about being able to handle criticism if it comes along while I'm presenting.

It terrifies me. Sunday is lo's naming and my rabbi keeps asking if ill talk. No way! I said I didn't want to talk at our wedding ceremony which had 30 people, but he still asked if I changed my mind.... when we were already standing under the chuppah! I almost passed out thinking he was going to make me talk!

@artbee: *shudder*. That would freak me out too! I had a panick attack walking down the aisle, with all of our guests watching me! I hate being the center of attention.

@banana: that's why we had such a small ceremony. My dh wanted a big wedding and at first I said ok, but then thinking about a big wedding and a big white dress made me cry. So he said we'd have a small wedding.

No, I used to be on the speech and debate team. Well, ages ago, but I know that I am not afraid of public speaking.

Nope, I took a lot of speech classes & was usually the presenter for college lecture class presentations which really has helped me out later in life. I am one of those people who would rather give a speech infront of 500 people than 5!!

I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. I get nervous no matter though.

I don't get nervous anymore, a coworker once told me that I know the subject matter better than anyone in the room, so no one's going to stump me with a question.
That totally boosted my confidence! I wouldn't say it's my preferred way to spend a day, but there are worse things out there for me.

I could do it if I had lots of time to prepare and practice. If you told me 5 minutes before I was about to go on stage, I think I would have a panic attack. Oh, I would definitely stutter.
