Yep! Most all have kids older then R though.

Half and half. My circle of friends have been married for about the same time (4-5 years) and having babies/TTC. My husbands group of friends are all newlyweds.

irl I actually don't know of anyone else that is ttc right now (or if they are, they aren't talking about it!. very few of our friends have kids, and if we get pregnant soon we'll still end up having some of the oldest kids in our social circle, even though we're ~30 and have been married 3 years. and my friends tend to be pretty evenly split between married/engaged/long term relationships and single. like, of the 5 friends that i've spoken to about ttc, 2 are single, one is married, and 2 are engaged. so it's definitely a mix.

@artbee: I'm in the same boat as you. Most of my friends aren't married, don't have kids, or don't want kids. I've found being pregnant pretty alienating, and I'm hoping that it doesn't continue when LO gets here. I desperately need to meet more mommies!

Kind of, we're all in the post college/working world phase. None of us are retired, which I consider our next big "milestone."

Nope. Some of our friends are newly weds or getting ready to be married.

@rahlyrah: Same! I looked a few up, but unfortunately they all seem to be very heavily geared towards SAHM, and I wouldn't be able to make any of the scheduled events, etc. There are a lot of moms on my street as well, but again, they are all SAHMs, and I really am hoping I can find WOHMs that might have a similar schedule to me! Maybe I'll just start stalking moms at the park..... 0_0

We're in the middle of the pack. Most are married with kids while we have other friends who are getting engaged, married, then kids. It seems like everyone who I know the night I met my husband are married, most with kids.

Sort of, in that we're all several years post-college and mainly in serious relationships, if not engaged/married.

If I'm counting my closest girlfriends, two are married, one's close to getting engaged, and two are single. One just had a baby a month ago. I'm getting married in 4 months and will be TTC soon after.

I've never felt like any of us have been in a stage of life where we don't understand the others, though...

None of my closest friends from college have kids yet, and most are single, but pretty much all of our friends in our current city have kids more or less the exact same age. We have a group of 6 families that we meet weekly for dinner, and we occasionally go on vacation together or hang out on weekends, and 5 of the 6 couples have kids, with the 6th couple due to have their first in November. The oldest child in the group is 4, two of us are due this fall, and two or three of the families are going to try for another kid starting this summer. It's definitely nice to have other people who want to go out for breakfast at 8 AM on Saturday and have easy baby-proof and toddler-friendly homes to visit. On the other hand, sometimes it means that it's hard to connect as adults because whenever we get together, we're just overrun by small children- there are friends in this group that I don't think I've had a "real" conversation with in a year because it's constantly interrupted by making sure none of the kids are doing grave harm to themselves, others, or property.

not really- the majority of my friends fall into the totally single camp, or the married with a baby camp. we are the only "married but not pregnant/with kids" of our friends. we used to do lots of couples dinners, but now its lots of date nights (i'm not complaining!)

Sort of...Most of my friends are married and are just about starting to TTC/have kids. I have an almost 2-year old with another one on the way.

I've been married 3 years, and I just had my first close friend get married last year. Now they're starting to get engaged, but a lot still live at home and/or are single (and I'm 28!!!) I'm DEFINITELY the first one procreating BUT I live in a totally different state, so it doesn't bother me as much as it might if I lived there. And, they're all really excited for us!

We're lagging behind most of our friends! Most of them got married in their mid-20s and started having babies soon after. I lived by the mantra "no marriage, no kids until 30" so now at 33, most of them have kids in school and we're planning our first child's first birthday. I don't mind - it's been great to hear words of wisdom from all of them and learn from their experiences!

I feel very fortunate that most are. Two of DH's three friends from HS had baby girls within three months of our. The third has two under 3.

We had our local college friends over for an overdue get together last weekend. Out of the seven friends in the area six are married and four have kids. Three are under one.

My closest girlfriends are far from having kids.
