I am close to my mom's sibling's kids but not my dad's brother's kids (they kinda stopped talking to my family after our grandparents passed because they don't approve of our lifestyle i.e. I lived with my husband before we were married and my parents didn't stone me). I am super duper close to one cousin in particular and my siblings each had a cousin that was their special buddy growing up as well.

My siblings don't have kids and won't for a long time even though we aren't that far apart in age. I am pregnant with our second and probably last baby, and neither of them plan to have kids for 10+ years. I'm sad that my kids won't have the close cousin relationships that my siblings and I had.

Relatively close to my cousins on my mom's side, especially the ones closer in age to me. I am the oldest of 16 cousins on that side (the youngest ones are 20+ years younger than me so they are more like nieces and nephews).

I only know 2 of my first cousins on my dad's side because the rest live in another country and most I have never met. Honestly I don't even know how many there are because my grandfather remarried 3 times and my dad doesn't actually know all his siblings. The 2 that I know are actually the same age as my dad so I am closer to their kids than to them. But we grew up being pretty close to them as well.

I have a huge family on one side - I have 19 first cousins, and all of but 3 are married so that number doubles. I am the youngest and our ages range from mid 50's to 33, and the next generation down (our kids) range from 32 - baby. I am closer with the cousins in the lower end of the age group, and see/speak to them regularly, but I don't see the older cousins as much. I have another set of cousins who are close to my age and live overseas, but we are *close* as in we speak regularly via facebook, and spent a lot of time together when we travel overseas to visit.

Nope. I haven't seen them since I was a child. They're all at least 10 years older than me, live in another part of the country, and in general lead a really different lifestyle for multiple reasons.

We see DH's cousins a lot though - his father comes from a big, close family and there are TONS of cousins our age. Only one cousin has a child, but others are starting to get married, which is exciting - hopefully lots more LOs for ours to play with will be on the way soon.

There are 9 in my generation on the side I'm close to. 6 of us live in the same city. Most of us see each other every month or two. Everyone travels in to get together on major holidays.

I'm super close to three (siblings) they're no different to me than my younger brother, who I'm very close to.

I am close to the rest of them and even my cousins in Korea thanks to social media these days and msg apps!

I have 27 first cousins, age range 12-48 (I'm 28.) I was close to the ones I grew up around and was within about 10 years of, so that's like, 15 of them?? But since I moved away from my home state where most of them are based, and made different life decisions, we are not as close. However we are all friendly and see each other when we are in the same state, and keep up a little on Facebook.

I have 6 (3 on each side). My female cousin on my moms side is basically like my sister.

Some of my first cousins yes (my dad is very close with one of his sisters and her daughters are still like sisters to me we talk frequently!) My mom has 5 siblings, but I'm only close with a couple of my cousins on that side, we've all moved away and lost touch, but we all still spend Christmas together which is amazing to catch up.

No. My first cousins lived in Puerto Rico and then moved to Texas when I was older. They are all 9 - 20 years older than I am, and I'm just another kid to them. I did visit uncle and aunt more often when I was in high school, but I just grew closer to cousin's kids.

I'm hoping that my kids will be close to their first cousins. My nieces are similar in age, and it's nice to see them hang out during birthdays and special events.

No. I feel like distance is the nail in the coffin when it comes to cousins. I have 6 first cousins. All of them live on the west coast. Growing up I'd only see them during the summer or if we were moving (military family). The cousins families never travelled (and actually still don't for the most part). So once high school ended we never see each other. I keep in sporadic touch with my aunts and uncles, especially since our LO was born.

I'm pretty close to all my first cousins. We all grew up in the same state and spent a lot of time together. Now we're scattered around the country but we still try to see each other. I'm even close to what I think are my second cousins once removed because my parents stayed close to their first cousins! I hope my kids get to have close realstionships with their cousins as well!
