We've been going to baby storytimes and found out this week they have a reading program for the babies too! Free board books! I was pumped, I figured reading programs started at preschool age.
Does your library do this??

Mine does; I will definitely do it when LO is born! I signed up for the adult program last summer but didn't really participate so I'm not bothering with that this year.

@chanzi: Ours has an adult one too, the prize drawing is for good stuff so I'm going to do it... all it entails is adding up points for books read and it includes books read to kids so I'm good to go!

Our library doesn't even have story hour during the weekend so I don't know.

Our story hour has an age requirement of 3. I wonder if I can crash with my 18 month old!

Our library's baby storytime is starting up again after a 3 week hiatus. I used to love the summer reading program when I was a kid too.

Yes! I had no idea they had a baby summer reading program until we went for a story time a few weeks ago. It's got "read" as an activity, but also you earn "points" for singing songs, letting your baby turn the pages, going to a storytime, etc. There's 3 levels of prizes - a finger puppet, a squishy toy, and a book at the end.

Yep, LO is in it. We went to Toddler Tales once and I thought I was missing SO much, but man, we could barely concentrate. Kids everywhere, we couldn't hear the story! We haven't been back. At least I won't feel bad when we go back to work and school.

@MsMamaBear: aw bummer! i've only been to the 0-12m one but at our library it's every family gets the same board book, we read, the librarian does a song with puppets or toys that we also get, another book, an activity, and then free play time!

@scg00387: I signed the kids up today and they get a free book once they reach a certain number. I'm excited!
