I'm friendly with one teacher at my daughter's daycare. Her daughter is the same age as my daughter and the girls get along great. I love listening to her complain about the things that bother her at the center and really love getting the inside scoop. 
Are you friends with childcare providers? Is that a good or bad thing?

Facebook friends, yes but not real close friends. It's still kind of a parent-teacher relationship. It's been nice and we swap funny stories.

I'm facebook friends with one of DS2's infant teachers. I really like her and she friended me. I wouldn't seek out any of the teachers otherwise. She does hair on the side in her home salon and I'm thinking about switching to her since I haven't found anyone I've liked near my house. But still don't know if that's a good or bad thing . ..

One tells me EVERYTHING -like how much $$ they make, who hates who, why someone left, etc etc etc

No, not even FB friends. I really like all the teachers, but I like keeping our relationship professional and not crossing that friendship line.
