Going to my mom's; only 20 min away and since I didn't feel like cleaning up!

I wish we were going home for Thanksgiving, but we're going home for Christmas instead. That's the downside of living overseas - having to choose which holidays to fly home for!
I am going to DD's preschool on Thanksgiving though to teach all of her little British schoolmates what Thanksgiving is and give them their first taste of pumpkin pie!

We have 4 Thankgivings this year and none are at our house, but they are all within 45 minutes of us. One each day from Wednesday-Saturday!

We always go to D's aunt's cabin on the Chesapeake Bay in MD. I've been looking forward to it for months...even when it's chaotic I always feel so relaxed and recharged when we leave.

@Ree723: even though you can't go home, it sounds like what you are doing is going to be a lot of fun. I'll be curious to see if any of the kids like Pumpkin Pie.

@mediagirl: @regberadaisy: I know! I'm quite excited, although bizarrely enough, a bit nervous too! Not sure what to say to 3 yr olds about Thanksgiving..... Also, it will be interesting to see if they like pumpkin pie - my girls don't and won't even try it!

We are going to my in-laws for thanksgiving, but we live one town over from them, so not really "traveling."
We usually host Thanksgiving with my extended family and my in-laws join us; and I'm so HAPPY WE'RE NOT THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!

Neither. We live across the country from both families so we gave up on spending Thanksgiving with family years ago. We have a ton of local friends in the same boat so we always get together. We'll be "traveling" about 3/4 mile from our house to this year's get-together.

We switch off years, so this year we traveled to see my family. We did a 13 hr road trip and will be here for a little over a week. Next year we'll likely stay home for Thanksgiving (but perhaps travel at Christmas).

We had to cancel travel plans last minute, so staying home for thanksgiving 🤗

Headed to my parents' house, which is just under 2 hrs away. Traveling, but we go there at least one weekend a month, so not really a big trip.

We're staying home this year and having roasted/ smoked turkey legs instead of a full turkey. I need this long weekend to clean and declutter for baby #2 arriving in about 6 weeks.

Normally we travel but all of our family is relatively close. The farthest we would go is 2.5 hours. But this year we are going camping! We bought everything to make a turkey dinner... Hopefully it works out and we aren't eating sandwiches!

We travel to my family farm where my grandad build a super cool midcentury modern home my aunt and her family live in. It is about 45 minutes away. Usually there is a deer hunt in the morning and then feast in afternoon.

Going somewhere for thanksgiving (my parents' house), staying home for Christmas.

We always travel for both holidays, alternating families. This year we are with DH's family. Hoping next year at Christmas we can stay home on Christmas day (or a pretend Christmas day on Christmas eve at least).

@Smurfette: agree! blah, travel. 4 hour flight and then 5 days with the in-laws with a baby who isn't sleeping but is newly crawling.... what did i get myself into

We have Thanksgiving lunch at our home! So we don't have to worry about driving anywhere with the LOs.

We have a newborn (3 weeks today!) and are staying home. We actually already celebrated over the weekend (dubbed Fakesgiving) and have no plans at all for Thursday!
