I think I'm passably handy...or at least good at following instructions, lol. I put together all of the nursery furniture and all of our Ikea furniture and set up and install things like our video monitor. As soon as E goes down for a nap I have to replace the toilet tank lever, chain and handle and the toilet paper holder. Once we move to a bigger place I'd love to try my hand at building some of my own furniture!

I put together all of the furniture in our house that needed it. My DH is not allowed to touch anything like that. If I can't do it, my little sister can.

I used to be more handy when I lived by myself. Now DH does it all for me so I lost my touch.

I'm super handy. I'm scared of saws, though, so I wouldn't be able to build anything if I had to cut my own lumber. But I can repair almost anything. I am the Google + Youtube queen.

Yeah, but not very strong, so I can do anything that doesn't involve much heavy lifting. Like you, I'm really good at following directions.

Pretty handy! My mama is the handiest person I know, so I had a good role model DH, on the other hand...not so much. He is a good gardener, though!

Yup, I'm handy. I put together all the Ikea furniture. If something is loose, I'll find a way to fix it. If something is broken, I'll try to figure out what's wrong with it so I can go find the replacement part or find some way to fix it.
I use our tool set more than the DH. DH can do some stuff but I'm good with finding easy cheap fixes. Also, DH doesn't have the patience like me.
If there is someway to fix it without having to trash it and buy another, I will find a way.

@swurlygurl: I put together most of the nursery furniture while he was at work. He was home when I put together the glider, though, and kept offering to help (because I was cursing at it a lot) and I kept throwing things at him, lol!

@BananaPancakes: Yeah, I'm sure when we buy a house I will want all sorts of tools but a saw is not one I'm comfortable in using. I do like that Home Depot will cut wood for you for free. Or make a few free cuts.

DH seems to be impressed. We just bought a house and I guess I picked up a thing or two along the way. I seem to be holding my own so far with repairs and such.

I think so. I'm my dad's mini-me and my dad is super handy. He's 10000x more handy than I am, but growing up, he always tried to include me in all the repairs he did so I knew how growing up. It's part of the reason why I can be so independent sometimes.
