Well DD1 is really struggling with her sleep and DD2 is teething and DH is out of town a lot so I wouldn't call it a sweet spot but I've definitely had much more difficult times with my kids than this, so I wouldn't call it a hard place either. What about you, sweet spot or hard place?

Sweet spot for the most part, we have definitely been in harder times. DS1 is 4, DS2 is 2.5. Meltdowns have become pretty rare but DS1 sort of drives me crazy when he doesn't listen...feels like it is on purpose
DS2 loves to talk back already, but he is so damn cute...

Sweet spot. Both kids sleep pretty well, eat pretty well, and are generally delights.

Mostly sweet, although there's some serious attitude in my three year old and sleep isn't fantastic. I'm sure LO2's arrival in a few weeks will throw everything off.

If my 6 month old would sleep life would be pretty close to perfect.

Sweet spot. Not easy, but we're doing fine and I know we have a bumpy road ahead with LO2 arriving in a couple months.

Sweet spot. At 13 months DD is (knock on wood) pretty easy.

The transition to two has kicked our asses- our baby is extremely fussy. We finally got him on a reflux med that works but then he got a cold and it's been lingering for three weeks.
That said, I'm deliriously happy and in love and feel pretty okay with these tough months because i know it's just a short phase. -
Sweet spot at 20 months

Very hard spot. 3 year is just impossibly 3 these days. The baby is almost a year and generally pretty chill but her sleep is getting worse instead of better. And we just moved and house problems and I'm exhausted and dh is working long hours... so yeah. It's a hard spot.

Sweet spot for a couple more weeks. DD1 is 2 and things are good for the most part. We're going to take her out of the crib this weekend, and DD2 will be arriving in a couple weeks, so I assume we'll be in a very hard place soon.

Hard spot but more work related and not parenting related. I desperately want to cut back on my hours, but it's just not feasible right now.
Parenting though is in a pretty good spot. He's 4.5 and pretty well behaved, fun, has spurts of playing independently, etc. he still has defiance issues and potty accidents which are both frustrating - and we fight tooth and nail to get him to clean or pick up anything. But those seem minor compared to what we've been through with him in the past, haha. -
sweet spot for the most part. Olive just turned 5 and Charlie is turning 7 next month. They are more independent than ever and it gets easier as they get older.

@Mrs. Pen: seriously. DD has been using the potty for like 8 months and is still having accidents. It's driving me crazy because she went 2 or 3 months with no accidents, not even at nap time and now it's several times a day

@Mrs. Sunshine: @Mrs. Pen: ironically potty accidents are pretty much the one and only thing we don't have a problem with right now.
Messing around with the sink when she washes her hands after is another story.

@Mrs. Sunshine: we've been potty training for almost two years now! It took this long to get #2 down and it was the most frustrating thing. But he still has accidents nearly everyday, but only at home. Not at school or daycare.
Potty training has been the worst. I hate it. -

Hard spot. DD is in the midst of her threenager phase and it drives me nuts! DS is not sleeping well and I'm just exhausted. I'm also looking for a new job which puts an added stress and the rejection of job hunting is really getting me down. I do feel like if we could get DS's sleep under control everything would feel better because I wouldn't be so tired all the time. I just keep saying this phase can't last forever.

Hard spot. I just got the book "Your Three Year Old: Friend or Enemy?" which I feel like is an accurate title. And the baby started crawling and is bound and determined to pull a lamp onto his head or crack his head open on the fireplace if I set him on the floor for half a second.

Sweet spot. DS is 3.5 and it is just great. He is sleeping good, eats good, is pretty well behaved. Now if he would only poop on the toilet and not in his underwear every day it would be even better.

Sweet spot for us, with our 15 month old. She is non stop and exhausting, but so much fun right now. 5-7 months was the hardest for me, and it's gotten easier since then.

Hard spot. LO is going through some behavioral stuff and DH and I aren't on the same page. Parenting is hard enough, let alone when you fundamentally disagree about how to move forward.

Sweet spot which is funny because I posted a similar thread a few months ago and we were struggling! It's crazy the difference a few months. Right now DD is 4 and super funny and DS is about to turn 2 but just started talking so much more so now everyone can communicate so much easier. We're laughing 1,000 times more than we were 3 months ago!

Ugh hard spot, my husband has been hospitalized for the past two weeks 1500 miles away from us. My three year old is acting out more than usual because of it and my 10 month old is super clingy. I just don't have enough arm, hands or patience to do it all.

Hard spot. My three year old is bound and determined to make me lose my mind, and she's very close to succeeding. Bedtime is literal hell in our house right now, and DH works nights so it's all on me. Add in a 7 month who won't sleep more than 2 hours at a time suddenly and it's a recipe for crazy.

@MrsRoo: when my sleep gets messed with I start LOSING it. Like spiraling into depression and anger and losing all my marbles all the time. I feel ya.

We came out of a hard spot when DD had coxackie for a whole week and me at 34 weeks pregnant...
So thankful she's back to normal now! But it's not really a sweet spot still since I'm so hugely pregnant!

Hard spot for sure ... our 3 year old is super-spirited, and once again, testing every. single. boundary. I have Janet Lansbury audio books playing all day!
Also, apparently 3 year olds hate food.

When you first posted 6 days ago I would have said sweet spot. Since then it feels like it's turning more and more into a hard place. The tantrums are really kicking up a notch. But to be fair he's pretty easy going so 1 tantrum a day feels like a lot. Maybe relative to others it's still easy. I don't know!
He's also getting clingier which I wasn't expecting at this age! He's 2 and suddenly it's mommy all the time. He's on a constant hunt for me if I walk out of the room for a minute.

hard place! both DS and I are sick. last week was a sweet spot though so maybe it will turn around soon.
