Yes, we plan on keeping it a secret from friends and family! Don't want the added pressure of well meaning questions...like- are you pregnant YET?

We have tried not to tell anyone. We've been TTC for 14 months and it's come up over that time with a few people but we pretty much change the subject or say "we'll see what happens".
It's so difficult when people ask because we're having a hard time getting pregnant and I'd rather not discuss it because it generally results in tears on my end. I do have one friend who knows because she is very familiar with WB & HB and has encouraged me to be more active in this community so that I have an outlet.

we are keeping it a secret...both our moms are waiting to hear "the news" that we are expecting and keeping making comments that we should have a baby our answer has always been "maybe later" or "we will see" but secretly i just want to tell them that we are going to start trying next month...

i had a SIL annouce that she and her husband were going to TTC their 3rd...well i took them 6 months to finally get pregnant and that entire time everyone was asking over and over if she was finally pregnant...i never dared asked because i wouldnt want people to ask me...

so its pretty much a secret until we get a BFP...

We never officially TTC so no. DH did tell a few of his family members that he was trying to get me pregnant though. He so crazy.

I haven't told anyone bc I don't want people inquiring and putting the pressure on (I put plenty on by myself, thank you). The hubby has told/slipped to one person because he's so excited about it. It's cute, but I trust the person he told won't tell anyone else so I'm okay with it.

We haven't told a soul. Well, besides my doctor, and you guys :). It's kind of hard to not talk about it around my friends and my mom - I feel like I have nothing to talk about because TTC is consuming my thoughts. Thank goodness for HB!

We told our parents and our close friends. No one really pressured us or asked for updates. We surprised our families when we announced our BFP. (I think everyone just assumed that we started trying after our 1 year so they didn't constantly badger us with questions).

We made the mistake of telling a few people that we were going to start trying after our trip to the Bahamas, it was like people were staring at my belly as soon as we got back. We did conceive there so it was pretty hard to keep the pregnancy a secret!

We decided we would also keep it to ourselves. One of my best friends knows that we started trying (more or less by accident, this month LOL) but that's it. Everyone else is totally in the dark, parents included. just didn't want the questions about how it's going, if we're pregnant yet or sideways glances when I decide to skip wine with dinner. We will tell our parents and sisters when it happens, probably pretty quickly as we know if anything were to happen throughout a pregnancy we would want their support through that.

We kept it a secret. We didn't want people asking everything month if we pregnant or not, and we didn't want our family to get excited each month putting more pressure on us!

I actually only told one person. She was my bff and we volunteered together. I only told her because I had to get off my meds, which meant more migraines, which meant id be unreliable and miss a lot. I regret telling her because even after I did she got upset with me for having migraines and missing things.

Next time nobody will know.

It's a hot topic in our households and we are already so pressured so when we begin officially TTC I don't want to tell anyone. Perhaps my sister since she's been through it and I'll need someone to talk to (other then HB Community!)

DH, my doctors, my two best friends and hellobee are the only ones that know what's going on. my SIL knows that we may, just because she is getting married the spring and i'm supposed to be in the wedding and i wanted her to know that there is a possibility i might be pregnant by then and that it's not that we aren't taking her wedding into consideration, it's just that if it's meant to be we aren't going to stop it, but that if it happens and she doesn't want to look for a dress that will work or it's a problem for whatever reason, just to let me know & i'll step aside but still help out however i can. she was happy i gave her a heads up about the possibility.

@Mrs. Blue: Haha I know the feeling. My BFF kept pushing, so I eventually caved and told her. So now she's the only person IRL that knows!

@Mrs. Blue: Haha. Yup, I'm guilty of giving away too much info and then trying to back pedal to try to change the topic so more questions aren't asked.

@Smurfette: I made my friend that I told promise not to ask me if I'm pregnant, ever. In exchange I promised her that I'd tell her as soon as I was.

I was always pretty open about that fact that we'd probably start trying the summer of our two-year wedding anniversary but we ended up starting a little bit earlier and I didn't tell anyone for about 2 months. It actually made the whole experience much harder and I didn't realize how much relief I felt until I finally broke down and told one of my best friends why I was so sad and since then, I've told my two other best friends and I feel a million trillion times better about everything...For me, keeping secrets is stifling and weighs me down so this worked out. I haven't told any family members because I don't talk to my parents about that stuff!
