I was watching Cousins on Call and they were talking about a little boy who had cancer and while he had cancer, he started a charitable organization to help children that were in a similar situation. I started tearing up and crying while hearing the story. DH looked at me and asked me if I was pregnant. I told him I am just more emotional now. Is anyone else more emotional post birth of LO?

OMG. Yes. I have cried more since dude was born (7 months ago) than I did probably in the 10 years before that. Craycray.

Yes. I'm a mess. I can't handle hearing about kids who are sick or poor...I am always donating to toys for tots and kids' cancer funds (I used to before but now I'm very passionate and consistent about it!)

Totally. I was emotional anyway, but now I'm a mess. I think I cry at least once every day.

Yes, every single news story I hear about that involves a child affects me so much more than it did before LO's birth. I was watching the NBC today show this morning and they had a story about a 40 something mother of three who has been diagnosed with ALS. She did a year of happiness with her husband and children to make sure they have positive memories before she becomes too unwell to do things with them. With the oldest daughter, who was 14, they went to NYC and the daughter tried on wedding dresses at Kleinfeld so the mother could see her little girl in a wedding dress, knowing she won't be there when the daughter does actually get married. I was sobbing, absolutely sobbing - and poor DD looked at me like I was crazy when I scooped her up and just hugged her as tight as I could.
So yes, to answer your question, I am a thousand times more emotional following DD's birth than I was before.....and I've always been an emotional person who is affected by tragic stories so now I'm just a big sappy puddle of mush half the time. Sigh.

Yes! And I'm literally typing this as I wipe away tears in my eyes from the same episode. He seems like such a great kid!

Oh no. This is bad news bears for me. I was already super emotional before pregnancy. Now I'm a mess, if its worse after LO gets here..... My poor DH!

I think a lot of parents become more empathetic for all children after they have kids... for a while, I couldn't even watch Law and Order: SVU!

So much more so! I used to LOVE watching Criminal Minds and now it freaks me out to no end. Even commercials make me tear up!

Yes, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster ever since. I hope these hormones level out sometime soon. Maybe need to get pregnant to re-level everything again?
