I am secretive when I regift! 
A friend told me that her gift to LO was a regift. "Oh, these are a bunch of things my LO got for her first birthday in January. I don't like licensed characters but I know you are ok with them." Hahah!

If it's the only gift I'm giving, then no. If I got a new gift but am throwing something else in, I might say something, but probably not.

I'm always super secretive about it unless it's for my sister.

If I'm just giving away stuff I got that I can't use, I'll tell the person. Not if I'm re-gifting it though... I wouldn't re-gift it if it's not something I'd actually get for them!

@snowjewelz: same. If it is like "oh I got these as a gift but I don't want/need them... can I pass them along to you?" then sure. But if it was a birthday gift or something, no way!

I gave an expecting friend some duplicate gifts LO got for his birthday as part of her baby shower gift. I didn't tell her about it, but I've definitely done it.

My friend is due with a baby boy in September so I told her I'm sending some stuff that DS never wore, but it's not for a special occasion gift or anything

I feel fine telling someone that something is just an extra or something I didn't use and just had laying around if I'm just giving it not as a gift, but considering it's usually the thought that counts for gifts I would feel super rude being like "oh yea, this is just something I had that I didn't want anymore... happy birthday!"

I'm secretive about it but I don't regift much

I'm usually super secretive! There will be times when a close friend has a baby and I have something brand new that LO just didn't use b/c of the seasons being off. In those cases, I'll usually give something and then give that as well as an aside.

I am secretive unless I am just passing things along or regifting something small with a real gift.

If its a good friend I will pass it to them and tell them it was a regift and buy an additional gift.
