I've been shy all my life! I think once I started working in an environment that was dominated by aggressive people, I started to come out of my shell a bit. Nowadays I'd say I'm not really shy but I'm not really outgoing either - if I have nothing to say, I won't say anything at all, which apparently comes off as being conceited. I always envied people who were outgoing and friendly!

I'm not shy at all. But my DH is and my son is too I think. What helped me overcome my shyness was moving schools a lot when I was little. I had to quickly make new friends and it sucked...but it made me more extroverted in the end.

I am shy but my profession - teaching- has knocked a lot of it out of me!

I went through a shy period when I was younger.. not so shy anymore though. LO is super social. She's always smiling and babbling at people.

very shy, especially around new people. I've been able to hide/mask just how shy and nervous I feel around people I don't know, but sometimes, I can't and end up stuttering! LO doesn't seem shy just yet...I have caught him staring at the checkout people when we go to the grocery store...he doesn't smile at them so maybe he's starting his stranger anxiety?

Not really. Hesitant sometimes depending on how I interpret the other person but I wouldn't say shy. My LO is not shy at all with other kids, she has started to be a lot more shy with adults though.

I was very shy. In grade school, I used to turn red and tear up when I was called on or had to say anything. I'm not as shy anymore. LO is still too little to tell if she is shy but from her behavior these first few weeks, she's not going to be shy at all.

I was definitely shy as a child, and I still am in very new situations, but I think overall I'm adjusting into the world.
