My period isn't back yet so we have no clue where I am in my cycle. I'm not on BC because I'm breastfeeding. We had to "just say no" this weekend because we had no other forms of protection in the house. We're done, we can't have any happy "uh-oh's!!"
Anyone else having to be hyper diligent about protection?

YES. I got a Mirena at 6 weeks pp. I am SO not playing around with that anymore. lol

Oh yeah. We are not done with our family yet, but S is only 5.5 months and we are NOT ready for another one...hopefully that will be a few years down the road!

I got Mirena at 8 weeks pp... we're not done, but we're not ready for #2 anytime soon. My supply went down a little, but that was also the same time I returned to work. I'm still able to EBF, going strong at 5 months.

Eh, not really. I haven't gotten my period back yet, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time. We aren't trying for #2 by any means, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we got a surprise.

yeah I am. Cobi wasn't an oops but I'm not ready for another one lol so we always always use protection.
However I know we would be thrilled ot have another one - but I know we couldn't afford a three bedroom apt/house soooo that would be rough.

@autumnlove: I was literally just thinking, Why not just pull out? Then I read that, and remembered all the adorable little withdrawal babies I know. I actually don't know anyone who got pregnant from a broken or improperly used condom, but at least 3 pull out babies.

I heard that BC can affect your supply (even the mini pill) so I'm really nervous about that. I do not want an IUD - so I'm thinking we're doing condoms and avoiding during certain days to be safe!

Sometimes we pull and pray, sometimes we use a condom, and sometimes we use nothing at all.

Really on the Withdrawal babies? Was Dad bad at it? We used it as our exclusive BC for 4 years and no whoops. DD only came once planned.

I will be going right on the low dose pill as soon as this baby's out (which is safe while BF). I think we'll wait about a year, year and a half before ttc for #2.
A girlfriend of mine used the Withdrawal method for about 5 years before having her two surprise babies

Well... we werent. After this baby I plan on getting Mirena & then prob going back to get my tubes tide around 5 years or so.

We were SUPER DUPER VIGILANT about protection after our first baby! I didn't do the mini pill because I know too many women who had accidental pregnancies while on it, so we stuck with condoms until we were ready to try again.

@Nskillet: I don't know how the dads were at it-- I'm close enough to them to know that they were using pull out when it happened, but not close enough to ask more questions I used it just fine for 4 months, including on days I knew I was fertile-- on those days I just said to be extra careful, but we were planning to TTC in a couple of months anyway. And 4 months is a very small sample. At least one of the dads, though, I'd be willing to bet money they weren't being THAT careful with it.

No not really! Ive never been on BC We used pull out method for 3 years before getting pregnant and sometimes he would even go inside me (I use a period tracker and always know when I'm fertile, expecting period etc, fancy know!) But it always worked. Currently 6 months pp and we still haven't been careful, that's why I think I may be pregnant again! We always knew we wanted our babies closer together than far apart. And I'd much rather have the babies, go thru baby stage all at once! And then be done!

We cannot have abother right now. We are using spermicidal condoms for that one extra level of protection. I think I would be OK with getting pregnant (though not thrilled) and I think DH wouls literally have a heart attack from the stress!

No, I'm on the mini pill, but haven't been great about taking it on time lately (no ill effects from it at all, milk production is just fine).
We just decided this morning to pull the goalie next month and NTNT for #2. No AF yet and LO is 9 months and still breastfeeding, but since it took 10 months to get pregnant last time we will be happy anytime for the next LO.

We were just talking about this last night. I was planning on getting an IUD shortly after delivery. But hubs isn't really psyched with that idea. He worries about it causing issues for me. He said he's fine with condoms. So I guess we'll see. But we definitely want at least 2 years and probably 3 between our kids so there will be no sexy time without protection. Once we do have our second hubs will get a snip snip.

I had a tubal ligation so no more babies from this body.
My husband still worries that we will be that .01% that has a tube grow back. If I say I'm not feeling good he looks at me like he is about to have a heart attack and asks if I am pregnant. I always try to reassure him that it won't happen but he still worries.

We are insane about it, we are planning on 2 more, but will not be ready to even NTNP until I have been back at work for a while (Canadian - 6 months more mat leave before I go back to work).
I EBF, and use the mini pill, and we use condoms.

We are very diligent right now. Well I should say, DH is very diligent right now. I am on the pill (I will admit that I do forget a pill every once and awhile though) but DH also always pulls out.
We aren't TTC yet, and are no where financially ready!

Yes. Although I want another one, I'd like t wait at least a year before we start trying. I've been on the mini pill for a few weeks now and so far it's going fine.

We aren't planning on trying again until January 2014 (though that could change either way!) so I had Nexplanon inserted 6 weeks postpartum. So far so good!

Nope, barely used it. A little bit between 5-8 months when I had my period back AND she was sleeping like hell and the thought of another was too much. After that I'd have welcomed another pregnancy, so no more condoms. Now it's been long enough that I'm wondering if it's the breastfeeding, or if I'll need another round of clomid to have another baby.
