Obviously I feel bad he's sick but I'm no Florence Nightingale. Seriously. He says I look at him like a demon if he sneezes when A is asleep. Well yeah, it's taken me an hour to get her down, DO NOT WAKE HER UP! I need to work on my bedside manner.

My DH is an awful sick person...He is a bigger baby than H! So I kind of fake sympathy but I'm secretly thinking "You are ridiculous!" He was sick the last 2 days home and he would sneeze, cough, & blow his nose and make H jump in her sleep and I told him he absolutely had to stop bc he was so insanely loud. I don't care if you have snot running down your face- DO NOT WAKE THE BABY!!!
ETA: My exact words were "I will kill you if you wake her up!"

DH is a huge baby when he's sick. I dread when he tells me he's coming down with something because I know the fun in store for me.

@PrincessBaby: @littlek: He told A last night not to get colds because they're awful and I couldn't help laughing at him. He started running to the bathroom to sneeze so it wouldn't wake her up but he paused to put on his flip flop. I let him know that if he woke her up because he was putting them on, I would chase him with them, and not in a kinky way, lol. I am a bit mean but she takes hours to get down right now, so he better not wake her up! #badwife

He takes the stereotype that men are babies when sick and amplifies it. I'm talking about missing work, whining, begging for medicine and soup, etc. It's pathetic. When I say I think I'm getting sick he says "you better not miss work" and that's about as helpful as he is. I used to baby him but I don't anymore

Not at all. I just tell him to suck it up or man up. But he's a GIANT baby when he's sick and just mopes around.

He always has to deal with me being sick with migraines so I really try to be nice. He's actually the one man who isn't a baby when he's sick..... I guess I lucked out.

@PrincessBaby: mine is the same way. I always think what a baby he is when sick!
I try and act sympathetic but I did tell him the be quiet when he sneezes or coughs or he gets to put the baby back to sleep if e wakes him haha.

Oh my god this thread is hilarious! Mostly because my DH is the same way and I react in the same way. I'm horrible!

Hahahaha, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who fakes sympathy!

@littlek: when I was four months into horrific morning sickness, DH felt sick for a day and omg I don't know how he dared complain like he did!
@SleepyMonkey: @Penny Lane: ha ha, I am pretty mean.
So DH got up, started banging on about the size of the bags under his eyes and I just had to get out so took A to the local ice festival in the Ergo. My veins do not flow with the milk of human kindness today that's for sure.

Hahaha!! This thread is so funny!!
It's the opposite in our house - I'm the big baby and DH soldiers on when he is sick!! SH has a long term, painful condition and yet, during pregnancy I'm being a whiny, pathetic little madam and he runs round after me, making sure I'm okay!!
I try to look after him as best I can. Like this morning, he was hung over so I brought him water and coffee and breakfast in bed.

Seriously DH is a pain in my ass when he's sick....luckily he hasn't been since LO was born. I do play nice though...I figure t's only a few days.

I don't mind to wait on him, as he's diabetic and gets ketones and can't really do anything. He was sick on Thurs/Friday with food poisoning and a cold, and I did stay home (partly because I was up every time he was puking).

@Cherrybee: Aw, you're preg, you're allowed tp be a baby!
@TurtleDoves: I played nice until today (day 4) and now I'm all out of nice. Maybe I'll wake up in a kinder mood
@evansjamie: To be fair that does sound like he was pretty poorly. Hope he's better now!

I joke every time my DH gets a cold that with as much as he's complaining it better be terminal. But seriously, he gets a cold and takes 2 days off work. I haven't taken a sick day off work in over 3 years.

My husband claims to be sick right now. I call bullshit. He just didn't want to do what we were supposed to do today. He pulls this crap all the time so on the rare occasion that he actually is sick, I have very little sympathy. Suck it up, cupcake. You're not dying. Let's not pretend that you are.

@KissMeCait: Lol! That's so funny. Maybe that's what I'll say to DH tomorrow: "suck it up, cupcake". Ha.
