DH and I went to the mall the other day just to walk around. I was amazed at the styles/trends that are out right now. I asked DH if that was the stuff people were really wearing and he said yes. Apparently I'm not up with the times anymore and have become a mom who wears simple and comfy.

I know what's trendy, but I'm old enough that I choose things that I know work for my body and style rather than just buying whatever's "in."

I live near a college campus where I see the trends change every year. It's kind of scary what college students wear these days. I am at least 5 years behind and don't mind looking like a frumpy mom.

I teach high school so I see it all. I don't like most of it...(midriffs are coming back!), but I incorporate something every once in awhile...
(But I'm looking around my class right now and most kids are wearing vans or converse and hoodies or sweatshirts. Not much different than what I wore 20 years ago except the jeans are skinny, not flared.)

Not even close. First of all, I live in Kansas and we are about 5 years behind everyone else. Second of all it takes me 2-3 years of warming up to a trend enough to give it a shot and by then I look like a douche bag who took 7-10 years to get on board soooo....nope! I have a few trendy things but not much.

I've never been super trendy, so I don't totally keep up with trends. I wear things more because I like them and I feel good in them versus wearing it to feel cool.

Well, yes and no. I know what is trendy and in style (I have like five fashion subscriptions, and I'm in college), but I don't always wear what is trending. I think of this current time as such a mishmash of fashions and other eras that there is no one new trending item now.
As a busy mom I definitely tend toward the cozy but chic side. I feel limited by my weight though too, and that kind of affects whether I will wear something or not. Some days I totally don't even care anyway and just wear what I want. Days at home are spent in sweatshirts and yoga pants.

My BFF owns a clothing boutique so I know whats on trend, however I also know my body and my age and dress accordingly. You will not find me in a crop top or see-thru shirt with a bra underneath. I'm a mom...but I do like some of them. I do own 1 or 4 vests...even with fur. I'm all about layering!

I'm aware of them, but I think most of them look silly and are far too inappropriate to wear to work. The neon, bra-showing, crop, mesh-y looks of the 80's need to go back from where they came from. I'll do leggings with tunics and boots often.

I try to resist looking like a tool and then eventually give in a little too late!
For the most part I like rocking my 70s style jbrand flares. They look so much better for my tall curvy body!

I like flare jeans too @Greentea: ! I saw some on Kohls website and got SO HAPPY that they seem to be coming back in style. I've never even tried to pull of the skinny jean trend!

Um, I know what's in (mostly) but that doesn't mean I wear it. I wear what I like, if it happens to be "in", then yay. If not... I really don't care.

Oh geez, I could care less. Unless you think a chubby girl in leggings with crazy or bright nails and usually head to toe in cheetah print and glitter is trendy? I just wear what I like.

Whats in style right now in Oz is floppy little skirts and belly tops - a great look at 36 weeks pregnant, I rock it every day.
