I haven't been to any of the west coast states (CA, OR or WA), and haven't been to a couple of the upper midwest states, but I've at least driven through the rest
ETA: I haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii, either, although I'd love to visit them both someday!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I haven't been to the middle of the country. I've been up and down the east coast, to the southern states, and to California. I'll be visiting Alaska soon.
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
Still so much to see! I've been to California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Illinois and Minnesota.
So 15 states! Not too bad but still many more I want to visit!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
I've been to the nearest 11 southeast/Midwest states, plus Rhode Island and Washington state - not including states that I didn't leave the airport in
I'm dying to do more traveling out west in the next few years.

@pui: I have only been to Vancouver! I want to travel around Canada too!

I've been to Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Colorado, Neveda, Flordia, Minnesota, Tennessee, California, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Vermont, and if airports count Georgia

I've been to a ton of states, probably at least 30. But I still haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii. Those are big ones, I can't wait to get there.

I think so! I've been to: Washington, California, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois, New York, Maryland, Washington DC, Massachusetts, Florida, Louisiana, Iowa, Michigan, Colorado, Nevada, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, Missouri, and have driven through several more... but almost half of the US! Just never left the country

I've been to 29 states so I guess I'm well traveled in my own country.

I'm a Canadian living in the US so I am semi-well traveled in both countries.
In Canada I have travelled extensively in Ontario, and have visited Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and BC.
In the US, I live in Georgia, and have visited New York, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Texas, California, and will be visiting Tennessee this summer.
It is so much easier to visit multiple states than it is provinces in Canada because the provinces are just so large!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
I'd love to see more of Canada. I've seen a bit of Quebec, some of Ontario, some of Alberta and some of BC. I'd LOVE to get out east, and visit a cousin wayyyy up north in Yellowknife.

I live in Canada and I've been to four provinces... but I've been to at least 20 US states!

I live in Canada and have visited 8/10 provinces (still need to do Manitoba and Saskatchewan). I haven't done any of the territories but would love to do Yukon!
pomegranate / 3858 posts
I've lived in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, and visited Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. Would love to get up north to Yukon or Northwest Territories.

I'm missing some of the south, west, and mountain states and alaska & hawaii.
New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington DC, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and California. (28/50 plus DC)

I've driven all over the US and have probably been in at least half the states! There are a few that we only saw a tiny bit out the car window though like Alabama.
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
Not at all, I've only seen some parts of 4 states and stopped in the airports of 3 others. I'd love to eventually see all the states!
honeydew / 7444 posts
I haven't been to the maritime provinces yet or Saskatchewan. Hoping i'll get up to the territories one day.
I'm more well-traveled in the US - 18 states! NY, NJ, Penn, Virginia, DC, North Carolina, California, Florida, Oregon, Hawaii, Illinois, Mass, Maryland, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Vermont, Nevada,

There are still a lot of places I haven't been but yes I would consider myself well travelled.

I've been eveywhere, man! I've been everywhere...
I haven't been to Alaska however, or Puerto Rico.
kiwi / 556 posts
I've been to Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia (drive through only), New Jersey, California and Nevada.
I've lived here less than a year though, so figure that isn't too shabby :).
In my home country of New Zealand I've been all over, but that's not hard when the country is so small.
In Japan, where I lived until recently, I've been to 3/4 main Islands, and all over Honshu from Tokyo down, but never far north of Tokyo (I lived in Kansai).
I get restless if I'm stuck in one place for too long, so find excuses to travel. I am also the queen of travel on the cheap

I've lived in 5 states and D.C. I've traveled in AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IL, IA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, NE, NH, NH, NM, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV, WI, AND WY.

Eh, more than some less than some. I'd say I'm about average. Born and raised in Ohio, although I lived in DC for 3 mo for an internship. I've hit a lot of the big cities (NY, Chicago, Atl, LA, San Diego, Vegas, Orlando, New Orleans… off the top of my head), and traveled a bit around the midwest/eastern seaboard plus been to popular vacation spots like Florida, NC/SC, Hawaii, etc.
But I don't think I'm one of those people who has "been everywhere" at all.

DH and I want to get LO to all 50 states before she turns 18. I think it will be a fun goal. I've lived in 4 states (TX, IL, MI and NY). I've visited all of them except WA, OR, ID, WY, ND, SD, NE, IA, MN, HI and AK.
coconut / 8079 posts
I've probably been in about half the states. Some were on road trips so I might not have seen a lot. I have lived in four different states.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@autumnlove: Come to Utah so you can mark another state on your list!!!
I've been to probably 30 of the states. Enough for me!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
I've only been on the northern coasts (all of New England, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, NC) and Oregon and Washington on the west. Never in the middle, and never south. Well, not counting airports. Before I went to the pacific NW I used to joke that the furthest west I'd been within the US was DC
persimmon / 1081 posts
I have been to 32 states, not counting ones I've just driven through. So pretty good! Would love to add Alaska and Hawaii to the list, though.
pineapple / 12566 posts
I've been in Austria for a bit over a year and we've not traveled much within the country yet. Just Vienna where we live, Graz, a ski town and the countryside a few times.
pomelo / 5469 posts
Yes, but then my country is a small one, relatively, so it's not hard to have seen most of it!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
I've been to all the provinces except Newfoundland and to none of the territories. In the US, I've been to North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Nevada, Arizona, California and Hawaii.

@Greentea: got that song reference! My dad used to sing it to me when I asked where he's traveled to before.
I've been to many states and have driven across the country multiple times. There are still some states I haven't visited though and would love to see, like Maine!

This is embarrassing... I'm Canadian and haven't been to any other provinces besides BC
(however, I've been to 5 states in the US, and 4 other countries)

I definitely need to get my butt out to see the rest of the states. I'm pretty well traveled on the coasts, but the in between is a big void for me except for Colorado!
pomegranate / 3779 posts
I've been to 32 states and most of the ones I'm missing are on the East coast. I should get up there some time.

@anonysquire: Yeah! I want to go on a CO and UT trip! Baby play date with Z!
