When you were younger, did you have different ideas about how you would like your family to look? I never really thought, "I have to have this many kids." I always just knew I wanted them. Now that we're planning on having just one, I'm totally okay wih it.

I think so. We only have one right now, but I'm pretty sure we'll have at least 3.

Mine is the same...I'm almost exactly were I am, family-wise, that I had always thought/wanted to be.

I thought I'd have all my children by 30, let's just say that didn't happen and we're not sure how many we will have.

Growing up I wasn't sure that I wanted any kids. Now I'd like as many as hubby will let me have. Which will probably only be 2 unless I want to go back to work, which I don't. I want to stay home with my kiddos!

i never planned for twins! and i thought wanted 3. we'll see. for our 3rd, it's one of those, we'll be happy with 2, but if we have a 3rd, that's great!

I always wanted four so did DH, but seeing as we are trying for #1 at 30/31 we'll be happy with however many we can get.

When I was in my early teens I really wanted to adpot children rather than have my own biological children. I remember my aunt saying that that would change as I got older. And it did :). I still think adoption is awesome and definitely won't rule it out, but we're TTC first.

I didn’t give kids a whole lot of thought growing up, but I guess I always figured I would have at least 2, and maybe 3. Now that I’m an adult and have a much better idea of how much my preferred standard of living costs, college costs, medical/dental stuff costs, adequate retirement costs – we’re looking more at 1, with a very small chance of a second.

Didn't think a lot about marriage or kids when I was younger, but I think I was always jealous of my friends who had 2 other siblings... my brother and I always wanted another sibling... so 3 is the ideal number.. back then ... and NOW
