I find that E and K (who are 15 months apart) are often mistaken for twins- likely because E is small and K is bigger for her age since they don't look a ton alike. I honestly find it weird since E is a very advanced talker for 3 and K is behind the curve for 20 months and K just LOOKS more baby to me (mommy goggles? haha).
Do your sibsets get mistaken for twins a lot? Do you think they look like twins? Or do you stare at people like, "What are you talking about?!" haha

At LEAST twice a day. It's crazy. Mine are also 15 months apart. I always want to say, "do you know what twins are?".

They are precious!! So sweet but they don't look like twins to me. I would think they had about the age difference that they do- same as my two sisters who have always been mistaken for twins! I only have one little boy so haven't experienced this myself.

Yes, it's so weird! Mine are 19 months apart and really look nothing alike, one is fair and the other has more of an olive skintone and darker eyes. Every single time I use the side-by-side double stroller someone asks me if they are twins.

I got really short with a lady about it about a year ago (so K was under 1 and E was 2 or so) because I'd had enough of people being ridiculous for the day and said, "One of them is talking to you and the other can barely sit up on her own- safe to say they aren't twins!" Not my finest hour but oy...

Mine are 13 months apart (should have been even closer than that but I carried to 42 weeks with my second) and they get confused as boy girl twins alllll the time. Honestly, they do look a LOT alike though, and boys tend to be bigger than girls a bit anyway so I think that's why.

Mine are almost two years apart and get confused for twins at least twice a month.
I could understand if they were closer in age because they are similar looking, but my oldest has ten pounds and half a foot on her sister.

Yes, and they are 19 months apart, one has short curly hair, one looooong brown hair. Not often but it's happened 2-3 times.

All the time! The boys are 16 months apart. N is small and E is big for their ages. They don't really look a like but we get it a lot. Probably doesn't help that I dress them alike a lot.

My brother and sister used to. My sister and I are 15 months apart and then my brother is 23 months younger than her but she is teeny so people always thought they were twins! They look nothing alike.

All the time, even though they are 20 months apart and obviously different sizes. I don't really think they look that much alike, but people tell me they do.

My second LO isn't here yet, so this hasn't happened, but just because they don't look alike doesn't mean they couldn't be twins- fraternal twins are no more closely related, genetically, than any other siblings. I mean, the ages and the development things, yeah, but just by looks alone, be fair. 
@JessicaMcB: yours look like siblings, not twins. And I have gotten short with the peanut gallery quite a few times. Not my finest hour but at the same time, maybe they will think twice before saying something stupid!

From the "kid" end of things, my sister and I were always mistaken for twins and it still happens! We are 2.5 years apart, and up to as recent as two weeks ago, we've been asked if we are twins SO many times

Only when they're both sitting down (like in a stroller or something) so you can't tell how much shorter D is! They're 2y apart but K only has 5 lbs on him

Pretty often when they're sitting down in the double stroller. They're 18 months apart but DD only outweights DS by 2-3 lbs lol. She's a few inches taller though. It surprises me bc I feel like DS still has a baby face/cheeks!

This thread cracks me up! My kids are twins and people still ask me really cautiously and then seem surprised when I say yes! They're fraternal and boy/girl, but still look a lot alike. People are so weird!

I think some people don't understand what twins are....I was out with my good friend and her daughter, our girls are 5 months apart and someone asked us if they were twins. Oh, and my friend's DD is white and my DD is Asian...... 
So I'm not really sure how that works.....

I was just telling Dh yesterday that our girls will likely never be mistaken for twins... C has white blonde hair and J has jet black! My sister and I were asked if we were twins quite frequently though

Not twins, but triplets. My sister has twin boys (fraternal) that are 10 months older than my LO and we get asked all the time if they are triplets. Especially if we have all three sitting in the wagon. It doesn't help that my LO is 95th percentile and the boys are 5th percentile.

We get that all the time, especially if we're going a long distance and are using our double stroller! Our kids are 22 months apart...
