Daycare and my work is closed today for President's Day. But DS is sick so he would have had to stay home today anyway. Fingers crossed he is okay to go to daycare tomorrow.

@regberadaisy: Yup, he's off and we're not! DH watched him first half of the day and I'm taking him with me to class in 20 minutes!

LO1 is in school today, and DH has the holiday off. So we get to spend extra one on one times with LO2.

Many of the school districts near me are going more towards the year round school schedule. So this week is their winter break.

@Smurfette: I would so prefer a year round schedule! Makes it easier on working parents.

@JoJoGirl: I remember having that midwinter break in early elementary school, but it is no more in MD. Just a three-day weekend for Presidents' Day.

Had the week off in CT, but not in OH or AZ. I think it's a northeastern thing....?

Yup. DD2 is off this week. DD1 was off last week. They have different spring breaks coming up next. DD1 one week and DD2 two weeks! Then summer break, fall break, winter break. Oy! This is a big reason why I have no plans of going back to work ...

They're off today, but DH has the day off so he took them out. I'm WFH today, so can't venture far... but love just being home with them.

Daycare is open thankfully! They are part of a school, but they always ask who still needs care and will remain open. And it's nice b/c there are no other cars!

I had no idea this was an all week thing. Our schools are closed on Monday, but they are open the rest of the week. Now it makes sense why someone else mentioned having this week off.

Schools here closed yesterday and today but I don't think all week. I guess like a small break?

The public schools are closed for February Break (there's also April Break), but our daycare was only closed President's Day and is open the rest of the week.

Wait, this is a thing? Do kids ever go to school anymore? Back when I walked uphill both ways barefoot on the snow, we never got so much as a fall break!

Here the public schools were closed Monday only. My husband had to work all day and my school was still open, so I worked the evening.

The districts around me in NY have the week off and then we have another week of vacation before Easter. We don't get out until June 23.

I've never heard of President's week (neither has my mom - a former school teacher). Her school was closed yesterday for a teacher workday but public schools are open.
