So yesterday my office threw me a surprise baby shower (yay!!!!). I was super surprised, and super moved! I got really lovely gifts too - bibs, pacifiers, rattle, clothes, and a HUGE gift card that everyone pitched in for to use at a baby store. As a thank you this morning, I brought in breakfast treats and sent an office email thanking everyone for the wonderful surprise, and I left treats out "from DH and I as a thank u".
I run into my ex-supervisor (he is now in semi retirement) and he thanks me for the treats and congratulates me again and then says" I want all ____ graduates (we have same alma mater) to sound as smart as I know they are. Its actually 'DH and me,' and not 'DH and I' because blah blah blah" [insert actual rules he proceeded to dictate].
My reply: "oh my. It was only a casual email" and I.started to walk away and he chuckled.
Way to burst a pregnant woman's bubble!!! Correcting grammar on a "thank u for shower here are treats email"?!? Agh!!! had a pity cry fest in bathroom before going to pedicure. hnph;!!
