Here's my take. I believe in giving children autonomy over their bodies, and under that wide umbrella, I feel that has been taken from his daughter by posting these type of pictures on the internet. The internet is forever. Also, there are a lot of predatory creeps out there.

Also, eww. I would NOT want pictures like this of my child online, boy or girl. Nor would I take pictures like this. Just... no.

I do not think its pornographic, however I don't think he should have posted them on the internet. That's definitely something to keep in the private family album.

There is a well known photographer named Sally Mann who published photos of her naked kids in the 90s and I think she got the same reaction. That said, many of her photos sell for thousands of dollars and they are on display in museums and galleries world wide.

I think this guy's photos lean art. Nothing is pornographic about his work that was shown in the link, although, a few of the images were rather suggestive (hands in the pants). Personally, I wouldn't display photos like this of my children in the public sphere, not because of perverts, but for their own privacy.

@Applesandbananas: I agree about someone being able to take them and use them for illicit purposes. I have known people who have done bad things with much less exposure. They are sick.

I do feel like these should be private photos. I'm not really seeing what he's trying to capture artistically? I guess that's for each artist to decide themselves.

I don't think they are pornographic BUT I also wouldn't put them online. A family photo album is a totally different space to me and they are memories they should remember but the PUBLIC doesn't need to see them. What will that girl think when she's a young teen and these images are still floating around?

I like the photos personally. I think they're capturing his daughter where she is in her life right now-- which seems to be with a fondness of being naked lol. That being said I wouldn't post them online. Those are the sorts of pics I'd keep in our personal album.

I personally don't think they're pornographic, but, I'm sure that someone who is, ahem, into that sorta thing might. That being said, I agree with the previous sentiments - it's fine for personal keepsakes, but I think it's crazy to post them all over the internet.

I feel like a lot of the pictures have a weird tone. Suggestive, maybe? They don't look cute and innocent, like a soapy baby in a bath tub would be. They are dark and serious and some of the ways she's posed are just...off. I look at them and think that they should be innocent due to her age, but they're almost oddly adult. IDK.

And I hate to be puritanical, but I feel like it is an invasion of his daughter's privacy to post these on the internet.

@ShootingStar: I agree, I do think some of these particular images seem far less innocent than similar materials from other sources. I think the dark tone almost suggests something that I don't even want to wrap my head around.

I don't think the photos are pornographic and definitely lean more towards artistic. That said, I feel uncomfortable for the little girl that there are naked pictures of her all over the internet. It's one thing for a consenting adult to allow pictures like that of themselves on-line for the world to see, but a child can't offer the same kind of consent and doesn't even understand the ramifications of it. Of course, by the time she grows up, this will probably be old news and no one will care anyway.

I also am not a fan of naked toddlers in general. I feel like once you're past the infant stage, it's weird to take pictures of a child naked. But I'm a prude, so that's probably just me.

I don't think it's pornographic, but I don't feel comfortable with naked pictures of anyone, let alone children on the internet/social media/etc.

I can't help but feel that if they were pictures of me that I would be pretty upset with my parents for putting me on such public display. Honestly, I would question why they kept taking naked pictures of me so frequently too. The bath tub photos or swimming in the wading pool in our yard I get. Naked on a road...? Not so much. I don't however think they are pornagraphic.

Am I missing something? Most of the photos she was either in a princess dress, or the pic was just of a landscape...the only one I could see being inappropriate was the one with her hands down her pants.

Definitely not porn, and I didn't find the ones posted to be offensive in any way. I think it's ridiculous that a "hyper puritanical, neo conservative group" was able to pressure FBook and IG into shutting down his accounts. I'm sure i would find most of their conservative postings offensive as well, but doubt that they would be shut down for that.

I think this is often an issue when a parent is an artist of some sort and they use their children as material. Whether it's a novelist writing about their children or a musician writing lyrics about a difficult time in their child's life, I think it's a tough situation. Based on these photos, I don't think he was being inappropriate though.

I agree with everyone who says no issue if not posted all over Internet. I actually probably have more of an issue with fact that poor girl has articles online debating the photos now. The photos are actually beautiful, and she was more clothed, I'm sure we would be aweing over them!

@hilsy85: Not sure if you missed it or not, but there was at least one picture of his daughter completely naked showing her privates (standing in front of an old white door).

I agree it's not porn, but it's nothing something I would want on the internet of myself as a child or of my child.

@hilsy85: not sure if it was in the slide show, but I kept scrolling down the article and there was text mixed in with pics.

@hilsy85: I thought the same thing! The only one that I am iffy on is the one of the potty but I feel like the rest are kids being kids. But I know plenty of people that post potty pics. I personally don't post photos of LO with her crotch showing so that's one thing I wouldn't want for the world at large to see but the rest look like lovely portraits.
