jumperoo or a phil and ted's lobster?
back in the day I probably would have liked a jumperoo better, but we used our lobster for years (still using!)

I don't think the lobster would work with our table (it has a lip around the side) Do you use it instead of a high chair?

I would take the jumperoo. We have a lobster and it's good for some counters/tables but not all.

@Reese: we used it almost every time we ate out and we took it with us when we traveled. Now that the kids are older we don't use it as often since DD sits in regular chairs and DS can sit in a high chair. Loved it when they were younger though.

Jumperoo. We never used a high chair thing like that one, but she looooooved her jumperoo.

@chopsuey: depends if they are the type to go out to eat a lot. The lobster would be better for them for that kind of situation...

Lobster!
Loved it, traveled with it, brought it to restaurants, friends/family visits, beach house.

@Banana330: they're big travelers and she actually asked me about it so she could put it on her registry.
the practical side of me wants to get the lobster, but I know the jumperoo would be a funner gift for them.. and the baby!

@chopsuey: I feel like a jumperoo is an awesome hand me down kind of gift.. nice to have but not as practical. But if she asked about the other, she does really want it, and it's so nice to get the stuff you actually want/need bought for you! I'm trying to avoid getting too many big items like a jumperoo (we don't have a ton of space), so I can borrow things and see which ones work for us.

we have an inglesina fast chair (like the lobster but can fit on tables that have a lip/apron) and got a lot of use out of it. a jumperoo would have taken too much space in our apartment.

Does the lobster scrape up the furniture? If not, I would prefer the lobster.

Lobster! It's something not a lot of people know exist but it is soooo handy. We use ours at the cottage, restaurants, grandmas.... Love it!

I have no interest in a giant jumperoo, but the lobster (or similar chair) would be very practical.

@dc yoga bee: It doesn't, the grips are rubberized where they clamp.
I looooove our lobster. We use it as a high chair!

i love the lobster chair too, but the jumperoo probably has more gift appeal for a ftm.

my thought is that aunts, grandmas, friends of my mom would be more likely to buy the jumperoo if she registered for both so I'd go with the lobster chair since you know the value.

Jumpster. We didn't use our travel high chair (different version) for too long. It was easier to use the ones at restaurants. And it depends on their table at home if they can use it. We can't use it on our table at home.

I'm thinking I would want to Lobster. I think I would register for some sort of bouncer/jumper (doesn't necessarily need to be that exact one) but I don't see myself registering for the lobster (because I'll probably register for a high chair). So a lobster is something that I would like as a gift because I might not buy it myself. Plus, now that you talk about how nice it is to use when you travel, it sounds like a good things to have.

I love that Lobster chair. Had a waaaaay longer life over the bouncer!

The lobster is a fun gift. If your friends love eating out, it will be perfect!

We never had a jumparoo, but we did have a similar portable high chair that we used occasionally.

@ladybee: yes, she registered for both!
thanks for all of your votes and input!!

I voted the Lobster, but I think I'm a bad person to ask because I very specifically don't want a bouncer of any kind. Since she registered for both, I actually think it'd be more fun to get the jumperoo.

I used my jumperoo a Ton. I don't think you can really compare them as one or the other. The jumperoo is a toy, and the lobster is a tool, or "necessity" If you will. If she registered for them she would like them both.

LO is 12 months old, and we've yet to use our travel high chair. We use restaurant or hotel high chairs when we travel. The few times I've brought our travel chair along, it didn't fit the table, which is very frustrating.

We have used our Inglesina fast chair every day since DS was 6 mo (he's over 2 now) but the two places we have lived have had islands that we eat at. So this is our high chair. I did use it a few times when traveling but mostly have used the restaurant high chairs when out. We did use it at my FIL's house. I liked the jumperoo but am happy that I borrowed it. I think we only used it for a few months.
