I stay at home with 10.5 month old DS on Mondays and Fridays. I'm kind of running out of ideas! What are somethings you do with same age if you stay at home with them? We don't really need to run errands and its too hot to go do anything outside.

My LO is a little older, but we will pull out the baby pool and water table. It keeps her cool, and I can sit in the baby pool to stay cool. Throwing a ball up the stairs and watching it roll down can keep LO entertained for a surprising amount of time. Hand-eye coordination activities like putting straws in a cup, playing with ribbons, etc are a hit. Library storytime. And if all else fails, a walk around the mall gives her new stuff to see.

Those are great ideas. I just went and got some clothes pins and stuck them in a cup. I feel like I just can't keep him entertained long enough and this pregnancy has me totally zapped!!

@matador84: I can imagine. I'm not pregnant, and trying to keep her entertained totally exhausts me!

I guess my dd is just easier. We can sit and bang things together forever, lol. Make faces at each other, this past week she learned waving. Play peek a boo while she crawls from one room to another. She loves to just crawl around the room and pull up on different things. The difficult part of our day is always getting her to nap... Between her independent play time, bottle times, food times (lately practicing eating puffs since we started late..it only took a few days for her to get it though!) our day goes by pretty quickly.

I like to set LO loose in the house and just follow him around. I close doors I don't want him going in, but his nursery, the spare room, lounge, kitchen, dining, family room, etc are all fair game. we've got 2.5 stories so he gets a kick out of going up and down the stairs, and he finds it hilarious when I "hide" then chase him.
it's not much work for me, and it can keep him happy for almost an hour and I figure he's practising crawling, climbing, and learning independence!
also, I've heard blowing bubbles can be a fun thing for kids this age

My LO is almost 13 months, so a little older, but here's a few suggestions - he loves reading, so when he's bored with his own books, he will go through my cookbooks and old magazines (I don't mind if anything gets bent and he's pretty good about not ripping anything).
Another big hit was sticky notes - I would put them all over our glass sliding doors and he goes nuts taking them off, putting them back up, etc.
I put some beaded necklaces, ribbons, and fake flowers into a bowl and that usually keeps him busy for a good 20 minutes. Obviously need to be sitting right there with him to make sure nothing goes in his mouth.
He loves playing with old wipes boxes - we have one where the lid doesn't shut anymore on it, so I'll put a burp cloth inside and he tries to take it out.
Also likes playing with blankets. We have a ton of the A&A ones, and I'll drape one over his head and slowly take it off to play peek-a-boo. Or we'll sit on the floor and I'll hide toys underneath the blanket.
Kitchen utensils are always fun - whisks, wooden spoons, plastic mixing bowls, rolling pin. Most of the time he's in the kitchen going through all the cabinets instead of playing with his own toys
