Just curious... I was thinking we would try around the 2 year mark. LO is currently 18 months

I put the potty seat out at 18 months but didn't really "train" - we just offered the potty all the time

I'm thinking 2 because potty isn't really reinforced at daycare until he moves to the 2 year old room.

I'm happy we waited until almost 2.5, because we have had very little accidents and no negative associations with it. It was a quick and smooth transition!

I think around 28 months...that is when daycare really reinforces it.

We have her potty out and she has used it a few times but we aren't working at it yet. I'm fairly certain she is going to regress when the new baby comes (right around her 2nd bday) so we're not going to try anything serious until she's adjusted to having a sibling.

We have tried putting DD on it at 17 months. She has been reaching down at her diaper letting us know something was going on so we thought we would see what would happen. She knows to sit on the potty but still hasn't done anything on it yet. She gets pretty impatient so I don't want to fight her and make it a negative thing so are skipping it for while. I don't really see the point in fighting it so we'll try again in a couple months!

We aren't even worrying about it until at least 2 1/2. We have #2 arriving this spring, so I'm sure that big life change will set us back and I just don't want to deal with it with a newborn. Plus I really don't mind diapers. We have a potty, and he knows what it is and sits on it, but we are gradually introducing the idea.

I've heard potty training is easier with girls... so I'm in no rush to start potty training until B is ready

Attempted to potty train at 16 months, which was very unsuccessful. By 22 months he was ready and frequently asking up use the potty. I wasn't ready since I was in my first trimester with DS2 and delayed until 26 months. He was fully trained in three days including nap and night time. I think early introduction helped us a lot.

2.5 years. DS learned to pee in the toilet the first day. Poop took about 2 weeks.
