I am really excited about test-driving strollers, folding them, just looking at them up close in general! But I feel silly venturing into the store anytime soon because I am only 9w and don't look even a little bit pregnant. I feel like I should wait until I have a substantial bump! When did you first go into a store to look at strollers?

We weren't looking for strollers when we ended up picking out our stroller. we were looking at cribs and just glannced through the stroller aisle when a sales woman came over and asked what type we were looking for and suggested the City Mini...that's all it took haha. i would say i was about 4 or 5 months, but again, we weren't actually looking for strollers then.

I've been eyeing strollers for years! I don't think you should feel silly doing it early if you want to-- those things can be expensive, so it would be smart to decide early and watch for sales/start saving. I know my friend went and looked already and she is 14 weeks and not showing at all.

I would start early... we ended up going back and forth a million times, and finally decided on the one we got around 34 weeks. once i narrowed down the ones i liked, my husband wanted to go to the store and test-drive, open and close each and every one a million times. so we had to make time for that!

Go ahead in! If you dont want to tell people you are pregnant, say you are shopping for a friend or looking for a shower gift.
I was bummed because we only have BRU stores here and they all carry the same travel system like sets which I didn't want. I ended up having to buy my stroller sight unseen from Amazon (Britax B-Ready). I knew it was returnable but I watched SOOO many you tube videos!

At 17 weeks I had to go to DH's work holiday lunch, which was near a Buy Buy Baby so I told him we were testdriving strollers afterwards. They had a much better selection compared to BRU.

21 weeks when we did our registry. DH did research before hand, so we had it narrowed down to a couple.

I don't think you need a bump! We started looking months before we registered and came back several times to push them around, fold them up, see how they work with car seats, etc. Plus we checked online reviews after seeing in person. I feel like I have a more well-rounded knowledge than if I had gone in once, seen something cool and decided on it immediately.

We bought one off Craigslist (without test driving anything...) when I was like 15 weeks. We were intending to just look and see what was around and found an amazing deal so just bought it.

@Thehistoryofus: I'm wondering if you bought off of amazon.com or amazon.ca? Strollers are SO MUCH CHEAPER on amazon.com!!
We are only a few hours from the border so I'm hoping to buy our stroller & crib in the states (I know car seats are a big no-no) but can't find much information. The Health Canada page says it would need the instructions in both french and english to cross the border (What are the chances of that??) ...all of the message boards I've searched makes it seem like Canadians don't have too tough of a time bringing strollers and cribs across the border.

I'd say in the 2nd tri. we actually went with a stroller that wasn't carried in our local BRU, though so I never got to lay hands on it before we got it in the mail! We went with the Joovy Zoom 360. I like that you can choose to lock the wheel or make it swivel. Haven't strolled baby in it yet but have it all put together and ready and LOVE it so far!
