I'm 4 dpIUI today. I was pretty crampy the first two days and still havevery mild cramps. hoping that's a good sign. I loved the midwife, she was super helpful and gave us lots of suggestions. I learned that ifI lived in Berkeley, I could get acupuncture at a community clinic for $15-$30/session. Oh so frustrating to live in the middle of no where! This was my least painful IUI yet, so at least if I have to keep doing them, I have a great provider now!

@2farmmoms: It's so frustrating especially since Progesterone plays such a vital role in ttc. Ughhh. I didn't know you can do your own testing. Such a great thing to know. Thanks

@2farmmoms: That's wonderful to hear. I'm glad you found someone who offers lots of suggestions. Lots and lots of positive vibes to you!

@LoveHope: I'll try to find the website for you. It seemed like it might be a good option if you have a pretty good idea of what you want done. I'm sure doctors don't appreciate it, but when they're not being super helpful sometimes you have to go another route.

@2farmmoms: I agree. I feel like they should test every possible scenario but they are so hesitant. This is torturous enough for us dealing with the struggle to conceive and doctors are making it worse off for us.

@2farmmoms: Thanks! Fingers crossed for your IUI! Man, $15 acupuncture sounds awesome. I pay $75 per session. Which reminds me that I need to make an appointment.
I have not been able to step away from the tests, but they're all still coming out positive. Not getting a lot darker, but I must remind myself that it's been TWO days. And the beta on Friday will really tell me what's going on, not staring at pink lines.

@BlueWolverine: I know, I almost wish she hadn't told me about it! Now I just have to be jealous because it's not nearly as accessible for me! I have a veterinary acupuncturist friend and it's tempting to try to talk her into learning the points for fertility for people so she can help me!

@BlueWolverine: I pay $80 a session. I went once a week last cycle but it's getting expensive so this cycle I'm going a few days before ovulation and then the week when implantation is supposed to occur. I'm hoping this is sufficient

@2farmmoms: it was even lighter this afternoon so I'm really hoping to see a temp rise soon!! Fingers crossed for you this TWW!

@BlueWolverine: yeah congrats!!!
I am on vacation and haven't had a chance to update. I'm out for this month My spotting was just early AF.

Ok guys. My temp this morning was definitely a typical post-O temp, but my chart is clearly out to lunch. Given that I need to do bloodwork 6-8 dpo, when would you suggest I go? I felt lots of cramps yesterday so I'm kind of thinking that was O day.
kiwi / 689 posts
@sslm: If it were me, I would go by yesterday being O. It seems your body was giving you signals. I would not go day 6dpo but maybe day 8 just to be sure.

6 days post IUI. I have an appointment tomorrow to get my progesterone. I wasn't nervous at all until I had a friend have a very low progesterone yesterday. I ovulate consistently based on BBT but haven't had the progesterone checked. This is a Femara/ovidrel cycle with another ovidrel to boost implementation. I had an 18mm and 16mm follicle. Encouragement please!

@AmeliaBedilia: fingers crossed for you!
I just checked out the regular POAS board for August and got so bummed at how many graduates they have. I am happy for everyone, but it's sad to see how few we have here every month

@sslm: I did that the other day and it made me feel upset. Best not to look.
@Ameliabedilia: Staying positive for you! Happy thoughts

@LoveHope: I think I'm ready to be added to the list now! I would go with Aug 27

@LoveHope: @sslm: Agreed, I looked the regular POAS thread the other day and it made my stomach hurt.

Same here, I'm trying to avoid that thread. It reminds me of how hopeful I was when we first started trying. My cousin who was trying at the same time as me is due in a month. Her baby shower is this weekend. Lucky for me I have to work so I can't go anyway. She tried for much longer than me but it's still hard, even though I'm so happy for her. I really wanted to be pregnant at the same time as her.

@2farmmoms: I totally get where you're coming from. My best friend and I were trying to get pregnant together. Well she did and her baby just turned two months. The entire time she was pregnant was so difficult. It still is. At least you don't have to attend the baby shower which could be difficult. I've been at each and every single baby shower this year and I felt pretty awful. It's best to not do that to yourself.

@AmeliaBedilia: 18 and 16 is great! my doc put me on progesterone without testing again. I think he just does it a security measure, which is fine with me. I think it's pretty normal.
Though things are looking good for far for me (fingers crossed for beta tomorrow), but I still have trouble with the August POAS board as well. It's so easy for some and heartbreaking for others.

@BlueWolverine: So happy for you, especially with so much riding on it and you give me hope! With triggering two days after that, I'm wondering if I ovulated one or two and how likely twins are. Really just hoping for a healthy pregnancy!

Hey girls. I see my name is up next. No cd1 yet but I know I'm out. I had to go to my re yesterday because I'm starting birth control for ivf my next cycle and I think it will start while I'm out of town this week. He did some blood work and my hcg test was negative. Womp womp. And I hate starting a period while on vacation. Especially while visiting my inlaws. This is way tmi, but I'm really uncomfortable throwing away any part of a tampon (wrapper or whatever) into a trash where someone could possibly find it and trace it back to me. Ugh. So yea..
As for acupuncture, I really wanted to try it so I went for a consult. The guy told me it was essential I buy the herbs and come in multiple times a week. It all amounted to $2500 for one month. wtf? I had to pass and got turned off by the whole thing. Is that a normal cost??

@agold: That's pricey. I pay $80 a session but no herbs do not sure how much for that. I go once a week each month.
pear / 1767 posts
@agold: My acupuncture is $90 per session with the recommendation to go once per week. I also do the herbs and a two month supply was about $120 (and I thought that was a lot!). Maybe keep looking for a different acupuncturist. Also, some insurance plans will cover it so that is worth a try as well.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: Totally random aside but have you tried a menstrual cup?
pear / 1510 posts
@agold: That's ridiculously expensive. I pay $75 per session and go once a week. My acupuncturist wanted me twice a week, but I had to do what I felt I could afford. If nothing else, it was very relaxing.
Blood draw this morning. Just waiting for doc's office to call. The lines on my tests don't appear to be getting darker, so I'm pretty nervous and little queasy. I just don't have a good feeling.

@BlueWolverine: thinking of you this morning! Hope you get good news! I can't imagine how hard that wait must be.

Hey ladies. I've been following along and cheering you on. I hope I won't have too long of a recovery time and can rejoin you in September. (Though I hope more have graduated by then!).

Fertility friend changed my O date and it makes more sense now. And I have solid crosshairs! I am so pumped to O before CD30.
I'm feeling weird this cycle. It's the last one before pursuing some kind of meds. I feel strangely optimistic that I'll get pregnant and not have to do the meds... but then I feel like I am setting myself up for massive disappointment to be positive.
blogger / pear / 1509 posts
@sslm: I've found that the cycles when I allow myself to get my hopes up aren't any harder than the ones where I don't. And my mother in law says energy follows thought so I say go for it.

@BlueWolverine: Sending good vibes!
@Crystal: Hope recovery is quick and your stay here is short!
As for me, 7dpIUI and progesterone is 48.9! She said that typically when they do a second ovidrel injection the progesterone is in the low 30s. It makes me wonder if both follicles ovulated- hope so!
