August POAS: 6+ Months

    @NorthStar: good luck tonight with the injectables.
    I just can't believe my dr never suggested it. I wonder if it's because my day 3 testing was normal. I just feel like I'm having issues with progesterone. Is it day 21 your supposed to test?

    @LoveHope: Thank you

    You are supposed to test around 7 days after ovulation. They assume you ovulate on day 14 and that is why it's referred to as the day 21 test. But, I would confirm ovulation and then ask for it 7 days later.

    @LoveHope: Yeah, make sure you confirm ovulation before going. My doctor was like, oh CD21 test, and when I said it was meant to be 7 dpo she had to stop and think about it. And then got confused about what CD I should go... So I told her I would just temp and when I am around 7 dpo I will go

    I just got off the phone with the dr's office and she wants to test prolactin and progesterone on day 3-5. I asked them if progesterone is supposed to be tested post ovulation and her assistant said she wants to do it day 3-5. Weird right? Especially since I did day 3 testing months ago.

    @LoveHope: the progesterone thing is SO weird, but maybe it's for a certain reason. But, I would still recommend pushing for the CD21 progesterone testing as that is to prove that you actually ovulated and that it's high enough.

    I'm sitting at work, waiting for my meds to be delivered. FedEx delivers until 4pm, so I have 2 hours. I'm getting SO anxious as I need to take them tonight!

    @NorthStar: I would be too! Hopefully they will get there soon!
    Yes, I'm confused but I'll certainly push to have it done post ovulation as well.

    @NorthStar: Yea! I was logging in to ask.

    I'm having some cramping after the IUI, but Dr. Google says that's normal. Anecdotally, it seems the people who cramped more had more BFPs- here's to hoping.

    I had a lot of cramping (well, it lasted a few days) and unfortunately, a BFN for me. But, I'm wondering if my lining was too thin. The nurses or RE never said anything, but I only had 2 days of AF, which is odd.

    I hope and wish SO HARD that the cramping is a good sign for you!

    While DH was giving his sample, I opened my bible up to read the next chapter, and it was the parable of the farmer and the seed- some seed lands on pavement, some on rocky soil, some in thorns, but some lands in fertile soil and does really well. Kind of funny and hopefully a good sign.

    Just popping in to say hi and wish everyone here the best of luck this month! While I don't chime in all the time, I am here cheering you on.

    I am about to start BCPs for our first IVF cycle.... Oh my! So many emotions! I hope to rejoin on September's 6+ months POAS thread, but for all your sakes, I hope you will all be POAS graduates by then!! Come on, August BFPs!

    I've been busy with more new baby goats this cycle, but I got my positive opk this morning as expected so we are heading down for the IUI this evening after work. Since its our first anniversary today, we got my parents to house sit and we will go camping Sunday - Tuesday on the coast (which is the only place in northern California it's not horribly smoky right now, hate fire season!)

    @Amorini: Sending prayers for you!

    I think this TWW is going to be really hard. I'm going to be so heartbroken if it doesn't work. I need something to distract myself and looking for suggestions. Right now the options are guitar, organizing the house, Photography, reading more books, crochet...any other ideas?

    @ms.line: Thank you! Thinking of you, too, and wish I could lurk on the preggo threads to hear your latest. Just can't do it to myself but I hope I'll be there soon.
    @AmeliaBedilia: Thanks and returning all of the prayers and well wishes right back to you during your TWW! I'm all for distractions. The ones you listed sound great, but I would definitely do what you absolutely love. Then you get lost in it and you will fill your mind with positive feelings.
    @2farmmoms: Happy Anniversary! Stay safe with all of those fires and best wishes for a smooth and successful IUI!

    Today was rough. Two of my girlfriends just announced they were pregnant. One of them wasn't even ttc. The other just started trying. I'm so happy for them but at the same time I'm angry at my body for betraying me. I know that sounds silly but it's how I feel at this very moment. As soon as they made the announcement together which was planned that way, I got up and left. This is so unbelievably hard. It's been baby showers, 1st birthday parties and christenings this entire year. I can't do it anymore. I'm drained and I can't keep smiling when all I want to do is cry.

    @lady grey: Sorry to hear that- hugs!

    @LoveHope: ugh, that's terrible! I hate having to fake happiness for people when I'm thinking, "why not us?" Recently an acquaintance had a baby (I think at 42) that was unplanned, she isn't married and is unemployed, and I don't understand why. I'm trying to figure out the minimum I can do for my upcoming niece or nephew who will be born soon. We all get it, and the best thing I can say is to avoid what you can and "I'm sorry but I have other plans." Hugs!

    @LoveHope: sounds like a rough year! I had one of those cry-so-hard-you-laugh moments earlier this evening. I was at the grocery store and THREE very pregnant bellies "cornered" me in the center of the aisle. They were clearly shopping alone so it was random. I was thinking -- is this for real?!? Get me away from the bellies! Attack of the bellies! My own private, surreal and ridiculous hell... In the end, it's just completely absurd how life goes sometimes. I try to do two things: get all of the humor I can out of it and be extremely grateful for the things in life that DO come easy.

    Just tested at 9DPO. Couldn't stop myself. At 8DPO the trigger was gone. I thought I saw something today on a Wondfo so I pulled out the big guns (FRER), but nothing. It's still early. I'm not temping because I'm on progesterone suppositories, so I don't think it would really tell me anything. I know that LO1 implanted on day 10, so I'm hoping there just hasn't been implantation yet. I need to calm down and breathe.

    Who has experience with OPKs? I know not everyone gets a fade in before a positive but I think that might be happening with me? Top photo from yesterday afternoon, bottom this morning.

    Am I grasping at straws here?

    @sslm: I totally get a fade in like that! I think you'll see your surge in a day or two - I'd keep testing 2-3x a day and it couldn't hurt to start BDing!

    @lady grey: Sorry to hear!

    I'm having a "what if we can't have kids" moment. 3DPO on first IUI. I'm so worried that it won't happen with three IUIs, and then freaking over the thought of IVF.
