although, since this was my first experience, now i'm second guessing myself. does this look dark enough to you guys to be a positive OPK?

@PEAPIE: I've seen you around the boards and I am happy you joined this thread. I'm just on my 2nd cycle TTC, but if I make it to a third, I will absolutely be excessive BDing like you did this month. Good luck to you!!

I've been totally out of the loop the past few days! Congrats @supernovaj! @lindsayinny, so hopeful your cycles will straighten back out after this wonky one! Wishing lots of baby dust to you ladies with O's coming soon! And new POASers, welcome! This is such a fun board to keep up with-I love being a lurker/cheerleader!

@Pui, my name on the cheerleader section has an extra "m" on there. If it's not too much trouble, can you change it on the next update? Thanks for your beautiful lists & awesome board hosting!

Holy there are a lot of us POASing on the 17th. The law of averages says at least one of us has to have a BFP right?

@PrincessBaby: sorry. It's never easy seeing a white test. It sounds odd to say but hopefully AF returns soon. Well I guess even better would be a BFP without AF!

@LindsayInNY @MrsMcD @futuremama @heybrookeashley: We love Breaking Bad, too! But talk about anxiety inducing. Not sure I could watch it while trying to remain calm during TTC. DH would kill me for saying but he often has to leave the couch and hide around the corner with only one eye peeking out to watch the TV while Breaking Bad is on. I'm thinking until we get these nerves ironed out, only comedies for us while TTC: Orange is the New Black maybe?

I am feeling super discouraged today. Over the weekend, I had extreme fatigue, sore breasts, lightheadedness, bloating, etc. I really thought this was the month, which would be great since DH will be changing jobs next year and due to many factors, it would be MUCH better to get pregnant this cycle than in the upcoming months. I missed two temps due to travel (forgot my thermometer). Last night the a/c was on the fritz so we slept in the basement and my temp went down. I am feeling so frustrated, sad and disappointed. Am I overreacting? Has anyone had a temp drop this much and still been pregnant? Can environmental factors make this much of a difference? FYI LP runs 12-13 days.

@AmeliaBedilia: I have seen a few charts that had temps dip below the coverline which still resulted in a BFP. However, this temp dip is looking very similar to the one you had last cycle before AF... Only way to know for sure is to use a HPT!

@mrshoneybear: my husband and i just started watching orange is the new black and we love it! super addicting and def much less anxiety inducing than breaking bad.

    @mrshoneybear: meant to reply earlier....

i also got baby fever about 6 months before my DH did. it was a bit unexpected for me but once it hit me that was it! at first we were on very different pages about ttc so soon and he wanted to wait much longer. i wasn't exactly wanting to start trying right away but i couldn't stop dreaming about babies either!

anyway, i certainly felt some disappointment wondering if we would ever be on the same page about it bc i always imagined it being this exciting time for the both of us and not just me trying to convince him to do something he wasn't ready for.

i guess my point is that eventually he did totally come around. 6 months ago i thought he'd never be ready, but i just tried to back off (a bit) and he's come along now in his own time and here we are ttc!

i think i also had some anxiety the first month and even the first times trying (i was like omgosh what are we doing!?) but after realizing it doesn't quite happen just bc you want it to, idk it just kind of eased everything and now we're just trying to have fun.

    good luck!

Hi everyone! I have been on the first-timers board but this is my first POAS board. This is STILL my first cycle ttc and first cycle off BC (on CD36 right now).

Currently waiting for AF to show and getting very impatient. I have 2 friends who got their BFP first cycle off BC, I assumed it would happen to me...so silly. Especially since I am a teacher and was hoping for an April baby! I am now wishing I'd gone off BC when we were just starting to think about TTC.

Here is my chart on FF: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/babybean404. At one point I had a dotted line for O at CD 17, but yesterday the app took it away. So, it has me guessing if I even really ovulated. We were on vacation right around that time (CD 17 and CD 18) and the OPK + was not as dark as the test line (but a lot darker than it had been on previous days).

I did call my OBGYN, they said if I miss TWO periods they can start me on progesterone to start it.

I am currently wondering if I should just stop charting, stop taking HPTs, and try to forget about it until it has been two months. Does anyone have any advice? Would it even be possible for me to ovulate "again" before I get AF?

Lots of luck to everyone out there trying! Have fun

@babybean404: It can take a while for BCP to get out of your system. Many bees had a few long/wonky/anovulatory cycles before settling in to a pattern.

From your chart it does not look like you did ovulate... it is still possible you could O late. Also your temps seem quite all over the place.

I'd suggest waiting the 2 months like you were suggested.

    Good luck!

@pui: yes, i know--I am a mouth breather and I have heard that can really throw things off. Can't quite get up the gumption to take my temp vaginally though I really wish I had kept my OPK strips and kept testing until it was negative so I'd know for sure.

Do you think I should still be testing with OPKs? I did one yesterday and there was no 2nd line at ALL.

  34. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@babybean404: I honestly would give up the temping until you have two cycles of BCPout of your system. I think it would just drive me more crazy.

  35. babybean404

    apricot / 386 posts

@T.H.O.U.: thank you. I think I will stop--it is making me pretty crazy and I am doing the whole "well if I get af TODAY, I would ovulate on THIS DAY, then maybe the baby would be born THIS MONTH." kinda nuts.

@PrincessBaby: Isn't it early for you to POAS? I would think it would be too early to get a positive.

  38. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@Littlebit: It is possible that the first 3 positives are false positives caused by Clomid... for now I am going under the assumption that today or tomorrow will be negative and so I only really had 3/4 positive OPKs.

  39. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@babybean404: fwiw, I had a rotten time with opks (never got a true positive so I gave up) and after 2 cycles off of bcp I started temping. Opks cannot confirm O...they just indicate when you address having a hormonal surge that could be ovulation...or not. Just be patient! Your body is still trying to figure itself out.

  40. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@babybean404: I wouldn't bother with OPKs for now... but continue to temp if you can. I'm really glad I have been temping even though O has not shown up for me yet.
