let's say you like these names would you name your child the names of the season they were born in?
same thing for month names April, May, June, January, September (I think I have seen this IRL).

@simplyfelicity: @mrsjyw: would you match the name to the season the child was born?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Probably...or the season would need to be significant in some way. If this pregnancy works out, I am due in summer. Not really a fan of it as a name, though.

I might match the name with the season but not the month

I was born in May and my mother was very close to calling me May but one of my aunts named her daughter May a few months before ... not born in May.
I think these names are cute.

I know an April born on Halloween! I do like the names Autumn and Summer. I'm having an early summer baby. Not sure if I'd name her (if it is a she) Autumn or Winter though!

I like the name April but I felt like it would seem silly if my baby has an April birthday, so I nixed it.
For seasonal names, the only one I'm a fan of is Autumn. I think you could use it regardless of birth month.

My sister is Autumn. She was born in the spring.

similar: I liked the name June and would have considered it if my baby was a female and NOT born in June. It seemed too matchy matchy to consider it for my June baby!

My mom was June. It was not her birth month though.
I love Winter! I wouldn't worry too much about the birth season if I were to use it.

April was our girls name (we were team green) and the baby was born in march...didn't even think about it!

Our daughters name is Geneviev3 Winter.
She was born in January during a blizzard that was responsible for my husbands work being cancelled (otherwise he would have missed her birth!).

My name is a seasonal name and I was born during that season. Kids liked to tease me about it as a kid (lame) and it honestly bugs me when people use my name to refer to the season (since there is another option). But I think those sorts of names are really cute generally! I would prefer them not being matched with the season the child was born in, though.

My daughter's middle name is winter and she was born the end of november, so technically fall. But I still love the name.

I might match the season like others said but not the month My DH is different though, I never asked him about these names but he would only agree to a Noelle if she was born around Christmas. To him that name sounds weird any other time of the year go figure

I like August, May, and Winter. Similarly, I know a woman named Tuesday. It was odd at first but it grew on me!

August was one of our favorite boy names and I was due in August. It was a little too much for me.

Autumn was on our short list, I was due in March. We just liked the name.
June is my DD's middle name, she was born in April. June had nothing to do with the month and everything to do with the fact that she was named after her great grandmother (who was also not born in June).

@Rainbow Sprinkles: haha well I live in Canada and end of November is definitely winter here
We can barely call the middle of October fall still.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@Mrs. Chocolate: yes, Noelle totally reminds me of the Christmas Noel.
@JessKas: @JessKas: August is such a cool boy's name.
@MrsScallop: I totally know your name and I like it!

I would definitely not match my baby's name to when they were born. It is too matchy-matchy for me. I would potentially use the names though (like April for a baby born anytime except April).
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: August is in our top 3 boy names but no, if he happened to be born in August it would go right out because I just wouldn't do that to a kid

I love the middle name June & Winter, but would only use them if the baby was not born in June or winter.

if we had had a girl we were thinking of some Winter-y holiday names for a mn since I was due just before Christmas. I loved Noelle and Winter.

@simplyfelicity: Winter was on the short list for LO's middle name...I really like it!
persimmon / 1404 posts
@Mrs. Chocolate: I love the name Noelle!
I like the names Winter and Autumn and I would use them if they were born in those seasons. Not a huge fan of month names though (in the month they were born in).

@PawPrints: us too! we looooved april but worried that an April with an april birthday would be too much. and i did a bunch of research about it and found out that girls named april ALWAYS get "when's your birthday" the minute they introduce themselves. that could get annoying so we decided against it.
i don't have a problem with seasonal names in the appropriate season but i think i'd prefer month names to not be in the month they were born. no idea why though!
grapefruit / 4400 posts
I think it's better when they don't match timewise... but I was pushing for our little girl's middle name to be Summer, and she was born in July, so I guess the matching doesn't bother me if it's a middle name.
grapefruit / 4923 posts
i wouldn't match it to the season if i liked one more than the other. if i liked them all equally and couldn't decide, then the baby's birth month would decide it!
pomegranate / 3032 posts
I dont think i would do a season name but i could see using something that signified the season like Amber in Autumn or Natalie near christmas. I love August as a girls middle name and august has a lot of significance in our lives (my and hub's birthday, anniversary)
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
I'm not a big fan of season or month names, honestly. Out of all of them, May would be my favorite but spelled Mae.
My husband dated a December so now I despise that name.
