My 10 month old loves the bath and playing in it.! But it is slowly going downhill as she doesn't understand leaning back when we wash her hair. She hunches over and squirms about with the end result of water ending up in her face and a crying little girl 
Hiw did you teach your LO to lean back so she doesn't get a face full of water?

Ah we are having this same problem!!! I fold a facecloth and hold it on her forehead, and kinda scoop the facecloth up to absorb most of the water. As many times as it takes to rinse most of it out lol.

What about one of those plastic things you hold in front of her face to keep the soap and water off?

This is something my LO has learned from his swim lessons - his instructor would count "1, 2, 3" very energetically and pour a very small amount of water over his head without covering his face. Then exclaim "yay!" with lots of positive reinforcement. Then each week after she would pour more and more water over until he was completely used to it and doesn't mind it being in his eyes. She recommended we use the counting method before pouring during bath time and it definitely helped!

Yeah, we just let it go in her eyes so she's used to it now. Sorry I don't have any other advice!

I just cover her forehead and eyes with my hands. Some water gets in her eyes but not a lot. She doesn't seem to be too bothered by it.

I'm mean mommy. I let it get in his eyes. But we have practiced putting his head back and floating on his back.

I am getting one of those bath visors like @MaisyMay: mentioned. But right now, at 15 mos, I still use the infant sling to wash their faces and hair, rinse with clean water and then sit them up upright. I may try doing what @littlecasita1122: suggested.

I lie him down to rinse shampoo out, but sometimes water gets in his eyes anyway, he doesn't seem to mind anymore
