LO is 7.5 mo and she's been chronically stuffy since birth, but has been worse since she got a cold about a month or so ago. Between the constantly stuffy nose and the dry air I think her nasal membranes must be pretty dry/irritate because she tends to get a little bit of a bloody nose pretty often. Any way we can help this? We do saline and snot sucker every night before bed because otherwise she has a hard time using her paci to sleep. We also run a humidifier in her room when she's super stuffy but not every night (maybe we should?)

Humidifier every night, and put a bit of aquaphor inside her nostrils with a q tip.

Using saline can actually make you stuffier. I would go ahead and run the humidifier every nighe and back off the saline spray some.

@blackbird: Hmm never thought about saline being drying but I bet that is part of the problem since we do it every night. But we sort of have to or the snot sucker doesn't work well. Will start using humidifier nightly!

@hilsy85: My poor baby. She is so sensitive to us touching her nose bc of all the saline and snot sucking. Now adding a third nose assault to the line-up!
@Mrs.Panda: If we don't snot suck her she wakes up 2 hrs after we put her down too stuffy to breath through her nose and then she can't use her paci and thus can't sleep and then I end up having to snot suck her at like 11pm

I also second the humidifier every night! Having the heat on in the house sucks the air dry. When t is really stuffy I put the humidifier on in whatever room he's in during the day while he plays or eats too. But normally I run it just for naps and bedtime.

@Mae: could you use a warm distilled water without the salts in it?? Warm liquid might help!

More humidifier and maybe having her sit in the bathroom while you take a steamy shower? I don't know, that always makes me feel better.
