OK friends, I know there have been quite a few of these posts (and I have looked through them all, thank you!) but I need some help with a baby boy #2 name.
We like unique (Ellis/ Griffin/ Wyatt- my husband vetoed them) but not obnoxious.
Nothing traditional or top 20 preferably
Brother's name is Rowan and last name is very Irish (rhymes with Brady) so we're kind of pigeon holed I feel like.
Suggestions?!!! I could give birth any day and we have a few we like but nothing we love.

Not sure if you want to continue with the Irish vibe but Emer is an Irish name that I love. It’s technically a girls name but I don’t know if people in the US would know that. Could also go with Emerson
I also like Kieran and Rory (but maybe Rory is too close to your son’s name).

@pachamama: I love Locklin, but DH veroee it because it was "too trendy and popular" (enjoy the irony of J and R having much more popular names). It's super popular internationally and I regularly hear it at playgrounds. I don't think it's unorthodox at all.

My first thought was finnegan/ Finn or Flynn. I knew a guy named Eamon and thought it was a cool, Irish name, but I also had NO idea how to spell it until he told me.

@Pollywog: lol didn't P veto Rowan and now Locklin?!! 🤣 It's odd, going with a more phonetic spelling (Locklin vs Lochlan/ Lachlan) makes it more unexpected. I like "Lock" as a shortened name for some reason.
These are good names, guys! Definitely some I have never considered.

@pachamama: according to every phonics lesson I ever had it should be Kay-lum, but several other sources, probably more reliable, say the Latin should be See-lum.

@DesertDreams88: my husband has 'bad memories' of a Grant so he vetoed that. And I'm a teacher and I'm pretty flexible about residual dislike of names! Ex- I tutored a literal violent felon named Cade and I still love the name.@Shantuck: I love Kellan. It's a top 3. My husband is Collin so he's worried theyre too similar but I'm like, people literally name their children after them!

@pachamama: I get it. I cared more about that issue with my first child's name. We named him Tobias and pronounce it toh-BYE-us. His nickname is Toby.
People regularly misspell Toby as Tobi, and sometimes they pronounce his name tah-BEE-us. I had never even heard of those two versions of his name so it used to surprise and annoy me. But it hasn't turned out to be a big deal so I would personally not screen for that so much anymore.
One of my daughters is Juliet, and people often don't hear the 't' at the end unless I over-enunciate it. Otherwise they think she is Julie.
And my other daughter is Amelia, and I'm often asked if it's spelled Emilia.
ETA: If you otherwise like the name, you could just spell it Shaymus
