At 9 weeks, I REALLY wouldn't worry! My LO was super serious til he was like 6 months old. Then it was all smiles all the time.

E was a pretty serious baby. He's still a pretty serious toddler. He laughs easily (when being tickled or something) but otherwise has a total RBF. I'm not worried, I'm the same way.

They definitely smile more as they get older.

My daughter was super serious and hardly ever smiled, but ds is polar opposite and has been smiling nonstop since 4 weeks. I think it just depends on the kid

My older daughter is the most serious child ever. We had to work to get that girl to smile when she was a baby, and like yours, didn't find tickling and that kind of stuff silly. She was very content, slept really well, ate well, a generally easy baby, just ... serious. At 2 now, she's still the same way, but she does find things funny and laughs.. she's still quiet and serious most of the time though. There's definitely nothing wrong with her, it's just her personality

Mine was like that! My pediatrician said wait till 4m, and he was right. Now he's just ridiculously smiley.

My first pretty much never smiled until she was about a year, and still has a pretty serious personality. My second smiles all the time at 3 months! I think it's a personality thing.

This is how DS looked like 80% of the time until he was maybe 7 months. And then he got super smiley and happy.

This is so us too! E is 9 weeks old today and while we've gotten a few big smiles out of her, they are very few and far between and we have to work for them. DH and I tried so hard (through two different photography sessions) to get a good smile out of her for her 2 month pictures two days ago. This is the best I could get:

My DD now at almost 8 mo is not a super smiley baby. She is very happy don't get me wrong... But I think she is always so busy observing that she ends up looking so serious all the time haha!

Will was that way the first few months - with his serious face, DH's cousin would ask, "are you worried about the mortgage?" He is now 1 and from 5/6 months on he got super smiley. It's more of an effort to get him to laugh but he has a happy disposition. Not to worry

Yep DD was a very serious baby. I always told strangers who would try to get a smile out of her that she was serious and most likely wouldn't smile at them. Around 8 or 9 months she became a whole new baby and now she's almost always smiling or giggling!
