We actually have the rainforest "gym" (and have snugabunny shiz!). We got it from Buy Buy Baby months ago and just found out the music/lights don't work We live 3 hrs from the closest BBB so I can't easily return it. J is 8 weeks and we do iron pumping tummy time a couple of minutes/day to help him strengthen his neck muscles.

I have the Fisher Price piano gym. We put her there around 2 weeks. She's 6 months now and still loves to play with it. The mirror was her favorite feature and she liked the sounds as she kicked the piano early on.

Get one where you don't mind the look of it in photos, because you'll be taking a lot from that vantage point! I'd go with the sungabunny one because the colors are more muted.

We used a wooden one instead, the moving beads seemed more interesting that the padded/stuffed one I insisted on having.

OOh, and make sure you get one with a mirror!

I have the Boppy circus one and cannot wait to bust it out!!! Someone gave us the baby Einstein one too but I returned it since I am hung up on the Boppy one. We also got another playgro?? Kind no idea where it's from, so I can't return it, grr.

We have the rain forest one...LO doesn't really care for " going to the gym". Ha. She does love mirrors, and the one on that gym is removable so we use that with the stuff she does like (bouncer, musical gliding chair/contraption). I like the sounds and music on the rainforest gym. She's only 8 weeks, and I've been trying to convince her since around week 4 that the gym is a fun thing. We'll see if she ever takes to it!

My bro lent us the rainforest. My twins loved it. Started really liking it around 2 mos, I think. We moved so we gave that back and got the fisher price with the piano. Kids love it.

We're going to get the skip hop treetop friends one, because it's one of the least obnoxious looking ones.

We have a Bright Starts gym (not sure if it's sold in the States) but it is definitely babylicious tacky and DD loves it!!! We've been putting her on it since she was 2 weeks old and she seems to really enjoy it. At first she just stared at the black and white polka dots but now at 6 weeks, she is much more interactive with it, staring at the different animals and of course she loves looking at herself in the mirror! She also does tummy time on there everyday and again likes looking at the bright colours.

Whilst I totally get not wanting to go with obnoxious colours, it does seem to be the most effective at holding baby's attention for at least a few minutes!
