My *knock on wood* the other day didn't work. LO has a cold and I'm beside myself. I've been doing everything I could be doing to help her but it's so sad
Baby's first cold. Ai.

Aww that sucks. It's not easy for mom or baby sitting in a steamy bathroom a few times a day really helped my LO with her cold a few months ago.... Then Nosefrida afterwards. Hope she gets better soon!!!

Man. I think M got sick for the first (and only) time around R's age.. I gave it to her though.
So.. Just make sure you have a humidifier on and suck out those boogies often--saline mist + nose frieda=my life savers.
Hope cutie pie gets better soon.
Take care of yourself so you don't get sick too!

Uh oh.... hope I didn't jinx my baby by saying she hasn't been sick yet too! Hope she feels better soon. Teething and a cold, no fun for you or your LO.

I know how you feel, Rubies. DS2, whose 3 months old has his first cold, and it's breaking my heart! I hate, hate, HATE when my kids are sick; sometimes I think it's worse as a parent to see your child suffer, than it is to be a sick kid.

Poor baby! I know how you feel too. My LOs first cold probably hurt me more than it hurt him. Like PPs, we used saline drops + nosefrida + humidifer. For us, the cold usually lasted 7-8 days but seemed to get better at around the 3rd or 4th day.

How do you prevent LO from choking on the saline drops? I tried to put them in with LO on her side but she was squirmy and not having any of it...And ended up gulping/choking it as it went down her throat. *SIGH*

If her nasal discharge is already runny, I wouldn't bother with saline drops. Only use them if you need help breaking up thick mucous. Even then, I prefer to just sit in a steamy bathroom with her, then use Nosefrida. I hate putting things up my own nose, so I avoid it as much as possible with LOs too.
